Working hard or hardly working suits me just fine. I've been in Seattle for a few months now and am loving the contrast between a rural past life and an exciting adventure every day kind of style.

On a busy Wednesday night all the geeks gathered at the MVP for some pub quizzery and shenanigans. Six teams tried their luck with only 3 having the roll of the dice in the favor. We began with recently in stuff and found out who left the LA Galaxy, Saturday Night Live and bid farewell to Jimmy Falon. Two Dudes and a Girl doing well this round along with the Quad Squad.

Round number two tugged on your heart strings as Tsunami Bootie joined us round late however doing well the answer with Heartbreak Hotel whereas Water Buffalos could stand to listen to a bit more of the King.

Nearly every team tried their hand at double points in round three as we chugged along to train stops in major cities. Seeing as we didn’t have any from Seattle, Las Vegas and New York seemed to be the most well known.

I before E except after C or as sounded as A in the Australian soap Neighbors and the Olympic sport Weightlifting for round four. Blank bowed out as the heat was turned up between Quad Squad and The Knower of Things.

And then there was four as the visual rounds kept trickling in and by the time team pictures took place, only three teams were left quizzing. The bar atmosphere making for an interesting boogie quiz (k)night.

We still managed some fun in round six with finding out just what a succubus is to the ladies as Two Duded and a Girl came up with cunnilingus as an entertaining supplement answer.

The trio of teams tried their best at the second audio round with the inquiry of “Where did you get cock?” being exclaimed from the Quad Squad.

As by geeks who drink rules, teams of 7 or more should split or lose their joker. Two teams went head to head for first place with the final round random knowledge ranging from diarrhea to Paul Revere. Quad Squad humbly accepting first and the Knower of Things becoming feisty by 10.

Some surprises are coming up for the MVP and GWD so stay tuned for more acronyms and activities.

V over and out!

Working hard or hardly working suits me just fine. I've been in Seattle for a few months now and am loving the contrast between a rural past life and an exciting adventure every day kind of style.

The pickins were slim this week as four teams quized it out for first place. We started off with a DUH kind of round where the majority of teams killed it. Venturing into the wild, the first audio round had us howling at the moon as at least Duran Duran was correct on everyone's answersheet.

All you internet trolls out there must have been hiding as round number three proved to be more educated guess than fact over crap. There were many subreddits that maybe shouldnt be real and some that should that we just  made up.

Taco Bell had you running for the border in round number four as Five Sticks No Chick pulled further into the lead by recieving the most points this round and getting all eight points for the visual round.

Killin Me Smallz and The Tripawds only weighing in at 2 points for round 6 which may be a good thing have not been well versed in battles with Satan.

We heard just how well you knew your American Accents in the second audio round of the night. Once again 5 Sticks and No Chick pulling out full points this round.

Random knowledge tonight ranged from Latin Translations to tea varietys, to Indiana Jones. The Grand Ol' Wanderers held on to their joker until the very end edging them out into the Thank God I'm TIED for last prize sharing along with Killin' Me Smallz.

All thats left to say after a good night's scoring is to Bring Your Friends and Bring your Brain for another
fun week at the MVP.

Working hard or hardly working suits me just fine. I've been in Seattle for a few months now and am loving the contrast between a rural past life and an exciting adventure every day kind of style.

On this week's edition of Geeks Who Drink, MVP style. five teams fought ferociously for first place. Starting out by jogging past all the fat guys in round one, TBD and Your Mom Goes to College correctly identified Meatloaf as "bitch tits". We were lucky enough this week to be graced by Captain Planet's Playlist and heard some good classics yet quickly moved on to news websites where surprisingly as most teams thought the Wall St Journal was among the top 10 but alas.
After the 3 way third place tie round 4 focused on nations and their administrative divisions. All very valiant efforts on the behalf of our quizzers for some tough pronunciations and whatever.

Magnolia Beach sure know their diarrhea inducing foods, especially when it comes to Frontera as the only team to correctly guess that boxed origin.

I know that all of us are friends but according to round 6 that may not have been the case if we were in the midst of war. As hard as it may be to believe no one knew that each contiguous state had a US navy battleship named for it.

The kinda true story clips from round 7 proved difficult for Bren & Met yet they still pulled it out for the "thank God we Aren't Last" prize.  The email bonus question went to Matt for really knowing his Porky Pig.

The joker found its way into every one's game by round 8 except for Bren & Met used theirs for the first audio round. I could certainly get down on some Swedish Fish as the Magnolia Magnums incorrectly guessed during the random knowledge round which may have lost them the pitcher but will always have a special place in our hearts. We finished out the the beach boys and enjoyed some time spent in the 80s while TBD claimed first prize with Magnolia Beach not far behind.

Another wonderful week with you beautiful MVPs
Same time, same place, same story.
