When I'm not busy asking questions of you know-it-alls, I'm busy deciding the fates of small time actors in Central Texas.  Ever had a dream to play "Fast Food Patron #6" in some low budget film?  I'm your gal!

So.  Dec 21st, 2012 did not bring us the end of the world.  It did, however, bring the announcement of the last quiz at Opal Divine's Davenport.  Lets take a moment and pour some out.

The last quiz was a fun one, with 5 teams who played the whole night, fighting for each and every point. 

And I even managed to play 2 1/2 hours of christmas music without any of you trying to stab me.  VICTORY.

Tonight, we learned way too much about the Geo Metro, lamented the fact that Granny Nanny is not a real show, and had a sad for some departed famous folks.  And just like in the 2012 election, the Romneys came in 2nd leaving the first place prize for One Brownie Away from Diabetes. 

Thank you Opal's staff and my quiz regulars.  You were few but loyal.  Check out our other Saturday night quizzes (at other Opal Divines locations!!) and I'll let you know on facebook where I'll be quizzing next.

Candice thought that she was one of the cool kids, but after marrying the most amazing geek in the world, she's now let her geek flag fly. Like a bad Portlandia cliche, she got addicted to Battlestar Galatica, she's building a Tardis bookshelf because of her love of Dr. Who (more specifically Matt Smith), and she's been watching the Hobbit trailer bald since it premiered at Butt-Numb-A-Thon last year. 

Candice is hoping to uphold the proud geek tradition started by Aisha Tyler (they both went to Dartmouth) of being being seemingly too hot to play video games. 

People should never doubt the power of Quizzing and the Geeks who love it! Westlake High School football DARED to have a home game on the same night as a Geeks Who Drink Quiz, causing many to fear that there would be no teams for the evening. But Geeks prevailed! I was standing in for the lovely Stephanie Saturday night and we had a great quiz. Six teams entered the thunderdome. Two fought valiantly until the end, and one reigned victorious! Teams really knew their D&D words and were amazing spellers throughout the night. It would have made any 4th grader proud. Also most everyone knew that the word for the fetish in which men dress in diapers and suck on bottles was infantilism. I don't judge.

The WOLVERINES, a team of four very burly men, rocked the round on musicals, and the one-woman team, SHRIMP, gave them a run for their money until Round 8. Great times were had by all!

Don't forget that Geek Bowl tickets are on sale! Go get your tickets before they sell out! If you like the weekly quiz, Geek Bowl is like the multiple orgasm of that times ten! You won't want to miss it.

Another Saturday night.  Another fun quiz at Opal Divine's Davenport Village.  Is there a better meal than french fries and gravy?  I think not.  And is there anything better than having not one but two returning teams from last week?  Its even better than gravy.

Three teams started and three teams finished in a close battle right up til the end.  We learned that some people consider The Star to be a legit news publication and that more of you need to see the film Better Off Dead.  Really.  Netflix it.  You can thank me later.

A new team I Don't Care cared enough to come in 2nd and The Boom Boom Boom Let Me Hear You Say Hey-O took home the first place prize AND the email bonus prize.  Again.  Ya'll need to do something about that.

Speaking of bonus prizes, The winner took home a Geeks who Drink pint glass.  But not just ANY pint glass.  A GODDAMN GEEK BOWL PINT GLASS, SON!! Tickets for geek bowl go on sale THIS wednesday at 7pm.  Don't forget.  Its gonna be bananas.
