Yes, we celebrated Memorial Day in style at Corkscrew last night, with a bunch of lists on why the good old USA is the greatest. Maybe the best reason of all is that there is ample opportunity to drink and quiz a the same time. Thanks to everyone that took part!

Special Ed took first place, which shows that not much changed in the week I was gone.

NORM!!!! came in second, but they were close throughout the entire night.

Pistachio Johnson was a new team that put up a great show with a good third place score!

In Second Place was poorly named, but was still able to avoid last place (kinda) even though they missed the first round!

The Alcoholics didn't miss a round, and were too busy gazing longingly at me (per their answer sheets) to get more answers correct. This is far and understandable.

Yes indeedy, the laptop was fixed, so we were back to video rounds last night!

Nine teams in total as well, it was a good turnout, and just about everyone in the place was playing! Nolan was back as well, to help out, read a few rounds, and do all my scoring. With Nolan helping, video rounds giving me breaks, I had plenty of time to drink!

All of the quizzers were working hard however, with Special Ed taking their spot in first place. K-Hole didn't let them away without a fight, but didn't do enough on the audio round to take top spot.

Long Jersey had a good showing in third place, a much better showing than the Islanders had at the same time :(

Quarter Life Crisis were rocking as well, and started off hot hot hot, but their lack of sporting vidya game knowledge was their eventual downfall.

Oops! finished strong, but had a slow start. Oops!

Two for the Road didn't come in first or second, but they won the e-mail bonus prize, taking home my last pint glass (oh, what will I keep my pencils in next week?!?!?)

Late Comers came late, but scored high, I wonder how they would've looked over the course of the whole quiz!

Big thanks to trainee Nolan for helping me out at Corkscrew last night. He graded all your sheets, read a round, and read most of the answers as well. Gave me more time to drink and be merry.

So lets talk about the scores! It was tied going into the final round, but Butt Slayers wasn't having any of that noise. They went ahead and beat Special Ed by five points.

Speaking of those guys, feel happy that you are good at quiz to the level that many teams don't even care if they win, as long as you don't, as Two for the Road in third place mentioned to me. Barry Bonds always talked about the fact that you have to be good if thousands of people are booing you. Just like that, you have to be pretty good at quiz if you have a barfull of quizzers happy you didn't come in first. Its the same thing. Really.
