This week on Geeks Who Drink we discovered it was time to dust off the old NATO phonetic alphabet and get familiar with some condensed movie credits. While most teams did okay there, Round 2 was the real decider of the evening. All high notes, but no Mariah Carey. And more Chris Brown jokes to go along with that terrible wedding video. It has 80 million views now, just in case you didn’t want to click on it and add to the count.
Round 3 was rough and not good in the scoring department, which I guess is a blessing for most of you since it was about junk food and prevented a significant amount of verbal abuse. The only thing better would have been if we could have sampled all of those foods as part of the round. And then lapse into a diabetic coma afterwards.
We had a tie for the first time in a long, long while and team MARRIAGE IS FOR SUCKERS pulled the 2nd place win over WHAT TEAM? via a coaster flipping contest. Quick draw! BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP had a big Round 8 and pulled a reacharound to get 1st. Woot!
As always, remember to tip your server, never park your car in front of a fire hydrant and also to like us and Grimm Bros on the Facebook thing. Grimm will also be at the Front Range Rally this weekend. Cross your fingers for some beautiful weather and get your grub and drink on out there!

Okay this week some posts for y’all about goings-on in the GWD universe. I feel that most of the time it’s just quiz and a few other updates from me but this week I’m going to plug some of our less-appreciated items in the list.
GoT Sigil Contest – We’re hopping on the back of a large entertainment company to promote our own contest and promo the Game of Thrones quiz we are having here in a few weeks. Check that FB link, it goes to a page with instructions on how to make your own sigil and win $25 credit to the GWD venue of your choice. It should be Grimm Bros. Always Grimm Bros.
Geek in Review – A round up of our weekly quizzes. Not so much of a “best-of” but more of a “Jesus, look at what the hell happened at this venue.” Best-of team names (notable celebrity deaths and significant events usually get the most traction), venue photos, scores & stats, and quiz sheet art. And sometimes a long rant by a disgruntled QM if you’re lucky.
Twitter and Facebook and NoCoGWD on Facebook. Live updates from the ever-consuming black hole of social media.
Meet Your Quizmaster – There’s quite a few of us around the nation. Most have personalities, many more are just doing this because their parole officer decided it would be a good thing. Regardless you can find out what makes us who we are and why we are QMs.
Suggest a Round – Yes, we are always listening to you. It may not always seem that way but we do. And if you have a round idea that you would like to propose, this is the avenue for that. I swear it’s not because we’re unoriginal.
Errorogenous Zone – Don’t tell anyone, please. We do fuck up sometimes. And our very own Superchamp will set the record straight. In the meantime, if you do feel we’ve done something wrong fill out the form at the top (there’s a link) and bitch at us for being pretentious know-it-alls. (Because we are.)
That’s about it. Don’t forget that Grimm’s got their newest lager on draft (Maiden’s Kiss). Drink up and be well. Click on a link or two, okay? I’ll see you kids soon.

Well holy moly and good golly gosh, finally – no precipitation this week. I’m flummoxed and flabbergasted. The garage door was open and the weather was fantastic for this week. I forgot what it was like to not have to drive back home at 20 miles per hour.
Rounds 6 and 7 this week were the types of rounds where you get to know your teammates pretty well. All about various ways of getting off and the, uh, unfortunate, shall we say, results of getting off. From an audio perspective our video Round 7 sounded like putting a bunch of ground beef in the dishwasher and letting it run. Also for the record, you can cook a fish in the dishwasher. And clean your keyboard, which may void your warranty.
On a lighter, more civilized note: THE WALKING BRAIN DEAD took home first place and TINA TURNER AND HOOCH rounded up second place. MARRIAGE IS FOR SUCKERS, along with TT&H took advantage of a solid Round 8 to come from behind and get placed. See you kids next week…
