It has been an amazing weekend for me your Quizmaster. On Friday I was lucky enough to get free tickets to a baseball game. The very next evening I was given free tickets to the symphony which was a lot of fun as well. All in all Friday and Saturday were entertaining. So how did Sunday measure up? Well let me put your worry to rest because it was wonderful. It started out with a morning and afternoon full of football and then an excellent breakfast which I ate while watching more football (I mean three overtime games in the morning alone!)
I know what you are all thinking. “But Colin the Symphony and Baseball? Sure football is great, but how can it measure up?” I will tell you why person way to interested in my life. The reason my Sunday was not just as good, but better than the rest of my weekend is because I got to host at the best dang Sunday venue in Seattle. The Keys on Main.
Tonight we reached a new high with 5 teams. There was a desperate battle for last place which was only finished after a sudden death match demanded by the two teams. Still there was a great night of questions and we introduced our first media round 7. Pixie Girls movie ID was the theme and it was a very popular round. We can’t forget about the great duel between second and third. Who stayed within 4 points almost the entire night; however, the blow away winner and best photo pose was again the method of quiz and the one who helped me drink to our love for the spotlight was Hostess Snowball.
1: Hostess Snowball
2: Geek^3
3: Will-less in Seattle
4: Ape Dog
5: Buck Face

With new faces and friendly company we ventured into the familiar world of pub quiz at Keys on Main this Sunday night. Riding the coattails of a fabulous Seahawks and Husky victory there was plenty to be smiling about even before the quiz began. We had some loud folks with some course words in the audience which were calmed, but never quelled by your glorious Quizmaster. All the same we blazed forward and though some of us may have a fear of the dark one this is for sure and that was everyone came out entertained.
With a rocky start (Remember you don’t shout the answers you write them down!) we found ourselves trenching though the dark and sometimes brilliant world of colors and coloring. Followed that up with the music round which saw no jokers but it did see two double digit scores for both The Geek Slinger & Tonsil Hockey. After that we introduced a new question format which allowed people to give a little bit of gamble to their scores. With only one team turning in their sheet early for the two points the round went really well and was very enjoyable for me.
Moving along we found out the profession of team Those Guys who gave extremely detailed answers during round 6’s medical fantastica who earned the only perfect round of the night. The visual round seemed to be a breeze except for the blasted spoon question which all three teams got wrong. Perhaps next time you all should have played with your spoon more during Saturday morning cereal and cartoon time.
The final standings were only complete after the end of round 8 which actually saw us finish with a tie for second place. This nights tie was broken by a new method which I like to call Quizmaster Drawoff. Tonight’s drawing was of “A clown sailing a boat.” We saw April the bartender select Those Guys as the winner of the draw off and then that was that. It was a real pleasure hosting tonight and look forward to seeing everyone there next week!
Standings
1st: Tonsil Hockey
2nd: Those Guys

On our day of rest three Valkyries entered the battlefield known as the Keys on Main Pub Quiz. With each holding to their strengths we saw three all three at one time take first place. Still in the end we see there were some breakaway winners with well-placed jokers and a few lucky guesses. The teams were as followed.
1st: A Geek with Dinosaurs on a spaceship.
2nd: April!
3rd: I am a particular kind of smart!
I am a.. Was able to make a strong push in the first round while April had a smartly used 18 point joker for the second round, but even that wasn’t able to stop the steady push for first place we all witnessed by Geek with Dinosaurs who in the final round used her joker scoring herself 20 points. Congrats to all who participated and looking forward to see you and even more people next week.
