So the sun was still out as the quiz began, that always feels weird to me. Especially when Katie hands me first rum and coke, it just feels to early to drink. I think you guys know what I mean but it didn't seem to keep you away tonight which makes me very happy of course. We had some semi new teams and some long lost faces tonight, either way I'll take what I can get. Round one: take a letter. There are a few things about me that nobody should know that this round brings to mind. I love the Golden Girls, and can sing every word of the the theme song. I think Dee Snyder’s crimped hair was pretty cool for a weird phase of my life. I know that I am allergic to Mary Kay products because my mom used to sell them (never got the pink Cadillac) and she and a bunch of middle aged women surrounded me at my most acned and slathered me in Mary Kay for teens shit. My face exploded! Auntie Em, we're cool I got no beef. Same with you Elle, never seen your flicks. I read all the Hunger Games before they were cool, that's not bragging btw. I pretended to need a gift receipt when I bought the second Hunger Games so the store clerk wouldn't know it was for me. I have read the Hunger Games but I've never read The Great Gatsby. Now that I've shared you know what we're dealing with so lets go on. For shame!1

Round 2, I have to say the thing that baffles me about these shitty YouTube karaoke songs is that fact that you can edit, you can totally edit. Hey that first take sucked, or shit I just realized I can sing for shit maybe I won't put this one on YouTube. In this day and age there is no excuse for having some dumb shit of you on the internet, which I'm sure to most of you seems counter intuitive but you just need to take on the life philosophy that I have. Assume every thing you do will end up on YouTube, thats' why I live my life balls to the wall, or so boring that no will click on the shit. Round three was pretty interesting, take three guys who are all pretty different and ask some inconsequential stuff about em. Sound like a plan. I have to admit the only one I cared about was Simon Pegg, don't get me wrong Paul Simon is fine, has some great shit, but for some reason Simon Pegg buzzes my hey I'm interested cortex. Ron Paul you do not. Yay, round 3, some people cared!!!

Hey, so round 4 was on racism, I'm not gonna touch it. However, the only thing I wanna say is Nascar really, can't you leave us one sport you don't kick our ass at. (I feel like that the vagueness of that sentence hurt it more than it helped it....I do apologize) Round 5, hey Julia get out of the way, you're ruing in movie!!!! I do like how you decided to block female actors most of the time until it came to good ol Sir Anthony Hopkins, you sneaky bitch. I had one team ask if Julia was inside or outside of the cage, I couldn't tell myself. Round 6, twins and peaks, you know like boobs. I like boobs, that and a good cup of coffee. I have to admit I've never watched much Twin Peaks so I can't offer to much in this area but for fans of the show I hope you truly enjoyed this round. Also Mel Brooks you're real hit and miss with me. The radar is jammed....really? If you know your Shakespeare then you may have done well in round 7, and if you can understand Steven Hawking then you probably did even better. All I say is knobbler is now my most favorite word, computer man voice you are so dumb!! Ha!!!

Well now we’re on to round 8, that saddest round for me, probably the happiest for you guys, I know I can go on a bit but I just love seeing you all! Who knew Alfred's last name was Pennyworth, good on ya Clarice, real quick wanna know my favorite line from Silence of the Lambs, “was she a great big fat woman?” I do an awesome impression ask me sometime. Can you believe they let Buffalo Bob be a chief of some kinda police shit. Okay, that last statement confirms Imma bit drunk, gonna fade while I can. Thanks everyone for coming out, and your mom sorry I promise I don't play favorites, and I was rooting for ya!!!!!!

I just wanna start by thanking everybody who came out tonight, we had a full bar and that always makes me feel warm and fuzzy. I also want to thank you for putting up with my inability to read during the first round. I felt like I was stroking out or something. Either way even with my reading trouble you all did awesome! I'm very impressed with how up to date you guys are on current events. Then round 2 came and kicked your ass. I bet you were all surprised that a round called dance you ass off including very few dance songs, and I don't know about you guys but I almost teared up at the end listening to Lee Ann Womack's I hope you dance. Seriously if you do get the chance to sit it or dance, I really do hope you dance.

Spades, diamonds or hearts, those were the choices you were given for round three. You M-effers just couldn't let the clubs go, could you!? Luckily the round was easy enough that you guys stuck to the given choices, I thought we would have some trouble makers who go against the grain and put clubs down. Really stick it to the man, but nobody did, even with the question about “One Eyed Royals” don't know much about them. This round was fun, I think, but trying to describe it sounds pretty boring but if you weren't there I promise it was fun. Right? Round 4, Ram It, I may have been a little silly after telling everybody that the answers contain “ram” I then went ahead and spelled ram for everybody, probably not necessary. As a sickly child whose worked in lot of restaurants the two I would have nailed were Dramamine and Ramekin. Oh and Hey Bram Stoker, you've got some crazy titles there don't ya.

Round 5 in my opinion was one of the best visual rounds we've had. It looked good and it was awesomely fun, Im a big fan of visual puzzles. You all did pretty well but you guys don't really know your simple syrups, but you all know your crack. Hey maybe but down the pipe and try a nice Mojito, just saying. Seriously why did you all get so excited at the mention of crack!? And I want to apologize, I don't know my Chlorine gas from Nitrogen Trichloride. So the hints start with the mention of crack and then we go right into a round about slang terms for marijuana or guys named Bud (little heavy on the guys named bud). I think we all learned some new slang though, I've heard of a spliff and I've heard keef, but I didn't know about Kiff or is it the Kroker part, I may be making a fool of my self right now. I like this round, not sure if you guys did but any round that includes David Faustino is okay in my book. Watching the wheels turn in your heads about how COPD fit into the round was pretty fun, favorite part was the group chant of “oh, Chronic”.

Round 7 we bring it back to crack, I'm starting to think that someone at GWD might have a real drug problem and this is there way of reaching out. Jack Bauer I agree of course a heroine addiction was completely necessary, I can't believe she even had to ask. Moderation wouldn't have worked, it had to be an addiction. They might be one in the same, I gotta be honest never done Heroine or seen a single episode of 24. And in the famous words of Tyrone Biggums, “you gotta play to win!” That's true with everything, even the quiz. Unless you want a free beer then you can just be a jackass that comes up and answers the bonus question.

I can't believe that nine of the ten top apps are games, I guess the tenth is probably that zippo lighter app. How many of those are angry birds versions, I wonder. I get asked a lot why don't we have more sports questions. I'll tell you, you sports nerds take it too seriously, if there is any room for interpretation you dudes lose it. I get it, it could be frustrating but I cant help you and I don't care enough to look it up or have you look it up and show me. If you guys promise to relax we will definitely have more sports questions. (That is a promise I can't make so.....yep) Okay, so Sunday is mothers day, don't forget your moms, I know you won't forget mine. I do expect all of you to call her on Sunday and wish her a happy mothers day, thank her for giving birth to me and apologize for the things you say about her. Do it! That last thing I wanna say is I think question 7 was misleading, I can think of a couple C-words that could describe a baby swan, cute, cuddly, what the fuck is a cygnet. I guess I'll never know. So thats it for the quiz, it was really anybody's game at the end you all saved your jokers to the end made for some edge of your seat action. I could totally see how excited you were. t was a lovely Thursday but now the storm was rolling in, and in my mind there is no better place to be than at GWD quiz. Drink some beers, eat some fries doused in ranch and probably win some money. Everybody wins, literally everybody wins. So we started the quiz with a Cash Cab heavy round. As a person who has been cable free for some time I had no idea Cash Cab was no longer around, that's the most shocking thing I learned in this round. I thought that we would get to reconnect once I was a cable viewer again but alas, Ben Bailey will not be waiting for me when I get back on the wagon. Also, I said this to the bar but I wanna say it again to anybody reading this. If you haven't seen Tango and Cash stop reading this and go watch it!!!!! Did you watch it? Pretty awesome right?

I've never personally had the pleasure of Rick Rolling anyone, I just never found the need but last night I got to Rick Roll a whole bar “full” of people so I made up for lost time. Roll, what a weird word, think about it, why is such a silly word so prevalent in so many genres of music. If you can't say time without space, you really shouldn't be able to say roll without rock but that doesn't seem to be the case. Ludacris you crazy! So I consider myself a TV fan but round three made my head hurt. I think it may have been the wording of the question, it's like one of those word math problems, my face goes blank and my mind goes numb and you might as well have been speaking in tongues to me. I'm glad, though, that I was the only one with that problem, most teams were able to name most of the #1 shows in network ratings since 1990. I think thats what we were looking for, right?

Round four “the search for answers” and isn't that what quiz is really about. In this day and age of instant information at our finger tips. Where we don't have to ponder anything longer than it takes to pull out your phone and look it up, isn't nice to have two hours where you have to use your brain, dig deep into that gray matter of yours and find that nugget of info you may have stored away years ago. That's what I believe this round was really about, it may not have said it explicitly but I think we can all agree. Now round 5, that was just about boats. Hey, see this boat name it, done! But really, don't all boats look the same, except for you SS Minnow I could never forget you!! And I really don't remember the boat from the Goonies being called Inferno, I thought it was just one eyed Willy's boat. I need to see that movie again and see how many times they actually call it Inferno, I may be surprised.

Who's got EGOTmania, I do, but thats because I'm an EGOTmaniac....dumb. Anywho, quick show of hands who thought this round was gonna be about people who had EGOTed. I know I did, GWD is so sneaky, they get you looking one way then boom their another way. I think I need to pick up both “Trio” and “Trio II” that sounds pretty awesome. Speaking of boat names (see round 5) Stugots has to be one of the funnest things to say. Stugots!!! Boh, Bagosh!!

In my line of work I rarely get to “drop the bass” so it was fun getting to be a real Scrillex for a night, I've already gone out and shaved the sides of my head, you know to get the look. Its pretty crazy what adding a couple of wubs to a song can do, Price is Right theme you were unrecognizable and Captain Sponge Bob you make an awesome addition to any piece of dub step. People need to start sampling that for reals!! Round 8, that pesky little random knowledge round, now I could talk about how awesome the Xmen vs. Avengers is gonna be. I could talk about how crazy Scientology is and how not crazy Charles Manson is (I think he's faking the funk) Or maybe I could talk about how much Ben Stiller talks about how awesome Ben Stiller is in his own movies. What I really should talk about though is the wonderful service that America's Most Wanted did for all of America. I miss that nightmare inducing panic attack giving show, (I'm a nervous fellow) and I think now criminals just have free reign. With that show of the air and Chris Hanson having to bust private contractors instead of pedo's this country is in trouble!! They hate us for our mock turtle necks!!! Anyway I could talk about all these things, which I kinda just did, but I'm tired so the quiz is done and I'm done. Goodnight, thanks to everyone who came out.
