For a first-time quizmaster, things went pretty well! I only said THREE bad words while troubleshooting the AV-equipment,and only ONE customer said I ruined their night.  (My goal was two - hooray!!!) Couple that with only ONE joke about my bowtie (and even THAT was just a derisive chant of "You're Doctor Who!") and I dub last night a success!!!

Even though only four teams were left by the final round, I still received a large standing ovation from the crowd when I wrapped things up (coincidentally timed by the UVA football team beating Florida State in the final seconds).

Special shout-out to Louise from "Sexy, Can I?" for inspiring the title of this blog with her witty answer to Round 3, Question 4; "Dungeons and Drag(Queens)".  She also described our mascots as "banging", and after every round requested that I play "Me and Bobby McGee" so she could sing along!  What else could I do but give her a GWD application? :)

Another Saturday night, another UVA home game and I'm full of steak and cheese from a chinese restaurant. Lets get this quiz started. The first round was a veritable cornucopia of things to yell out. A round of things that rhyme with naughty words, how is that not gonna be something hard to yell out. Shit, if I was in the bar I'd wanna yell a few things myself. There wasn't as much yelling as I'd thought there would be but I think my favorite moment was when everyone realized the answer was bundt and then they realized what that rhymed with, there was an audible gasp among the crown, at practically the same time! Round two, I'm not so sure everybody got the theme of this round, songs you would here at payless doesn't mean shitty yacht rock or whatever they actually play in Payless, it was a round on songs about shoes!!! Which means if you here elvis think of blue suede shoes, and don't forget to actually write down Nancy Sinatra, looking at you Axis! Hey round three, you’re kinda boring but I find it pretty interesting that a lot of you forgot the good ol US of A!! Oh, and what an interesting version of We are the Champions, it's by the Busters and it's super weird, don't know how I feel about it.

Hey, I want to congratulate everyone who was privy to the most mature round 5 we have ever had, if I never see another penis with a mohawk and gold chains I've still seen one too many, and super penis, really. However, a boat full of penises sinking really makes me laugh, just think about a quartet of penis still playing their instruments as the ship goes down, thats good stuff. But seriously, Yuck! Round 6, I have to disagree with you I bet Meryl Streep could totally hit a jump shot, just like Geena Davis is a real modern day Robin Hood. Interesting fact, two of the athletes mentioned in this round are Charlottesville locals, I one saw Howie Long on the downtown mall, he's a tall Son ma Bitch, and lets just say his wife caused a real firestorm in my pants, (maybe a broken arrow, which ever is funnier, god I hope nobody actually reads this. Round 7, now that was a doozy, I don't know enough about video games to get most of the references and I don't think I was alone, I guess Brentalfloss is pretty bad ass.

There are only two things I want to say about round 8, one, who doesn't have a photo album of Condi Rice, I wonder Gaddafi had his for the same reason I have mine, and second, Almost Heroes is a greatly under appreciated movie, it's Chris Farley at his........best? So that was the quiz, the scores were tallied wouldn't you know it we had a tie for third, this lead to a sudden death question, something about Google's watts, and in a fine example of how contestant row works we found our third place winner with a guess of 100,000,001 to 100 million, fucking beautiful, well done Freedom Ain't Free!!!

How's your October going? Mine, pretty well, hows my quiz going? Pretty fucking crazy!! Tonight was another home game for UVA so the bar was a packed again. I rustled up a few teams to play along side our regulars, or should I say regular, and we were off. Round one started off with a question about a submarine, and it turned into a freeby as on of the buns from 3 hotdogs, 2 buns decided to let the whole bar in on the action. The funny thing about the people who yell out the answers is you become very aware of the answers they don’t know then you just look silly. Hey though, we made if through the first round and all was good, we learned we laughed, we loved. Then round 3 came and I don't think people can help themselves when it comes to 50/50 one word answers, I mean shit it's hard for me to not yell out the answers, however, Sideburns you need to calm down a bit, and don't tell me those aren't fucking side burns, I know what sideburns are!!! Eventually Sideburns and the classy lady of 3 hotdogs 2 buns lost their energy and the yelling subsided, it's a bit hard to compete with me, I'm already a loud dude and now I have a mic, I will always win!!!! So round 4 began and we had us a guest host, everybody lets give it up for Rory! Rory jumped in read round 4 for everybody which I was glad to let him to because there were a lot of big names I wasn't going to be able to pronounce. Rory did a great job, helped me with some scoring and even stuck around to read one more round. He read round 6 beautifully which wasn't easy because a few of the teams were none to happy with the theme apparently not everybody plays Gears of War, or bought the third one the day it came out only to go home pop in the Xbox and receive the fucking red ring of death!!! Apparently that didn't happen to everyone!!!!! So...Rory did a great job and round 6 I thought was a pretty interesting round. Thanks again Rory. So round 7 hit and you all forgot about your Kitty Formans, thats okay, I only would have known cause I find that voice of hers so sexy. By round 8 we were down to three teams, 3 hotdogs 2 buns left after a particularly difficult round for them, seeing their answers I can understand their frustration. So the last three teams, all you had to do was stick around and you would win....until I dropped the gift certificates in the black hole that is the back of the MC booth, them shits are gone for eternity. Luckily new ones can be made, and all the winners got their prizes, Yay!!!!! Thanks to everyone who came, I hope to see most of you faces again next time, maybe not all of you, I'm looking at you Sideburns. Thanks again to Rory.
