Oh hello there friends!
We had a great time outside last night under a beautiful, clear Texas spring evening. It was so quiet out, my voice seemed to echo all over the neighborhood. To make a good evening even better, I had the 2 meat plate. If you haven't had the sausage yet, you should grab it!
Alrighty, let's talk quiz.
It was so fun! In the first round, you guys had to deal with some Ma'am-agrams, or anagrams of famous women. Round 2 had some Euro-trash band playing some of our favorite songs... I shouldn't say playing though. They changed them into shadows of themselves, leaving some of you to guess after "Don't Fear the Reaper." I guess when you take the cowbell out of that song, it's unrecognizable.
Round 3 had the table of dudes trying to make educated guesses about whether it was Britney Spears or Christina Aguilara. Round 4 had me flexing my ZZ Top fandom skills, except the round had nothing to do with ZZ Top. Round 5 had you matching saints with what they are the patrons of as Loose Canons.
Round 6 had you completely focused on Australia on You call that a first? This is a first. Round 7 was a TV Mixup where we had tv shows playing with the wrong intro music. My personal favorite was... well... I guess I can't say until Wednesday.
Round 8 was random, as usual, and we had a clear winner and second place winner! Congratulations to the two teams who repurposed a round 1 clue into their team name! OBVIOUSLY that's good luck.

Yep--that's right. Well FINALLY!
Last night I saw the old gangs come back in full force with 13 teams! We also had some newbies among us that got thoroughly quizzed for the first time--as I mentioned on the mic, Congratulations, you made it to the finest quiz company in town! I hope that you guys had as much fun as I did! There's nothing like a full dining room at Scholz.
This week we had a whole round on Anatomy Class kind of, and a round where we played just a few seconds of epicly long songs on repeat and you had to guess what they were. Since I played "Space Jam" you knew that we had a sports round coming your way--a speed sports round at that. You had to name teams that don't exist anymore. Man, I would have personally bombed the shit out of that round.
Round 4 was called Young and Old, and in round 5 you guys clearly demonstrated that you have seen a map of Asia recently--nice. To the two teams that had not seen a map recently, I cannot shame you nor blame you, but this might be helpful.
Round 6 was an entire round on Opera, and yes, it was the second time in the quiz where the instructions contained a huge "Fuck you." I hope you liked the vitriol I put in my voice with each iteration of the "F" word.
Round 7 had you identifying that guy and movies that he's in. I can't remember his name, and I'm too lazy to look it up, but you know, you get the idea.
Going into Round 7 we had a tie for first between And then I saw Anne's Face, Now I'm a Belieber, and The Quizzards of Oz. Who would come out on top?
Turns out both of these teams knew the exact same knowledge and pulled out a score of 10 each, which means... SUDDEN DEATH.
I asked the two teams 5 more questions--one of which was a math question. The two teams tied on the first 4 questions--scoring 3 each. Which meant it came down to the math question, and with a number that was way off, but not over Anne's Face took home the cash!

Good afternoon Scholzies!
I had such a blast with you all, per usual, at our Monday quiz! My BFF's were at the BFF table, AND took home the email bonus, I got a couple more emails on my list, AND there were some Austin QMs there to heckle the shit out of me again (which I love).
It was a pretty fun quiz last night! We had rounds on words that start with La, Bands that use really terrible grammar, and a whole round on sports and games where you use balls. It took me right back to summer camp when I would play tether ball--the taller boys that I tried to hang with would always knock me out of the tournament first because I couldn't reach their throws. So unfair.
And then we had rounds on Carls, celebreties who were covered in slime, and a round on the character's from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (except historically accurate). I just like pronouncing Socrates and Beethoven incorrectly. Not surprising that you all jumped on the bonus, knowing that Keanu Reeves has to be dyslexic or something.
Round 7 had you identify the film that takes place in that desert somewhere in Arizona or Utah, and round 8 was Random, of course!
This evening the QM team beat the pants off of everyone else, but graciously passed on the money to give the second and third place teams their winnings--way to be generous QMs!
