First let me say, I am really loving the peeps over at Kelly's. Every week when we walk in we get a huge welcome with everyone yelling our names. These are great people and I want to see this venue grow. My wife is out there every week meeting people and making friends. Really everyone loves her and puts up with me! Ha.
So this week the post is going to be explained a little. Mostly I just ramble on or post random poetry I have written. This week I want to put up something I have thought about at length about why I am constantly confused about where this world is heading. I think its a good place (something my wife taught me) and I want to help it get there. So here are musings and thoughts put together in a simple little essay.
Having goals is making a list of accomplishments that are important enough to you that you could prioritize reaching that goal above other goals to such a point that you would sacrifice lesser goals in order to reach the main goal. All so at the end, when the goals are all done, you can look back and say “i’m glad I spent that time doing that thing.” because who wants to look back and say “damn I wish I wouldn’t have used up that time for that meaningless thing.” :-( Depressing.
Having goals and working to reach them is just guaranteeing yourself you will not waste time. You are afraid of having to look back and feel like you used up some your limited supply of time. Its the same with mistakes. something is a mistake because the consequence of your decision means you will now have to spend time doing something you don’t want to do. That’s why “time-out” is such an effective punishment. You are spending some of your limited time sitting in a corner when there is so much to see and experience in the world. You could be doing anything, but becuase you were bad you now don’t get to use your time doing something great. Even as a child you can see old people and learn about death. And your little child brain starts calculating years months days minutes moments. And you see how many you have and you just start trying to fill them all with amazing things. You are so excited to spend every moment to the maximum. Damn the consequences, I’ve got all the time in the world! As an adult, you start to understand the ending of time when you look back and see that you have already spent half of your time. What happened? I had so much time and now I don’t feel like I have enough left. So when you make a decision, every decision you make is a gamble with your time. If you succeed you will be able to spend more time doing what you want. If you lose you will have to spend more time doing what you don’t want. You will invest some of your limited time to reaching a goal. That goal better be important and you better work hard to reach it because you will never get that time back.
There was some country in Europe that was declaring a law that gives you back vacation time if you get sick on your vacation. So if you take a vacation for a week and get sick. You get to have that vacation time back. Like a do over. A commenter on the radio was making fun of this country and saying “thats why america is great and that country is where it is.” like saying how far our country has come and how crappy their country is. But what he really was saying is that you should take some of this precious time you were given and spend it on the collective good. Every time you use some of your time for yourself is taking away time that could be spent on the greater good. Its like time communism. If everybody pitches in we all win. Its the same concept as communism but instead of money or land or possession being shared. Its time. Your time. It was given to you. If you spend your time on the progress of the greater good then you are a very good time communist and should get some kind of commie metal.

QUIZ YOURSELF
Look, if you had one quiz, one opportunity
To seize at least a 20 dollar bar tab in one moment
Would you capture it or just let it slip?
Yo
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, pencil's at ready
There's transformers on his sweater already, driving momma's camry
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks down for guessing the right answers,
But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down,
The whole crowd goes so loud
He named his team, but the name won't come back
He's choking how, everybody's joking now
The clock's run out, time's up over, bloah!
Turn in round one answer sheet, Oh there's a bonus question
Oh, there goes free beer, he choked
He's so mad, but he won't give up that
Easy, no
He won't have it , he knows his whole team's counting he knows
the subject matter, he's dope
He knows that, but he's drunk
He's so drunk and, he knows
When he goes back to his parents home, that's when it's
Back to warcraft again, yo
bohemian rhapsody
He better go memorize the lyrics and hope he gets it next time.
[Hook:]
You better quiz yourself when your at home, the 8 rounds
You own em, you better never leave one blank
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to show
Everyone at the bar quizzes are you life Yo
I'm Cracker Jack and I'm out! (drops the mic0
