Originally from Columbus, Ohio.  Moved to the sprawling metropolis of Gunnison, Colorado to attend Western State.  And yes, I did graduate with an Anthropology degree.  My hands are magic to a bicycle.  Although, not so much with the ladies!  Speaking of the ladies, I love to pitch a tent, when camping. 

It’s getting chilly in Gunnison!  This is usually how cold it gets.  We have had a few mild winters in the past years, but it feels back to normal.  It reminds me of when I first moved to Gunnison.  Last night’s quiz reminded me of some of the first quizzes we had at Tomichi Tavern.  Only a few teams showed up, but some of the best times and super fun.  Big thanks to Joey the bartender for getting last night rolling and turning on the heat.

 

We had a 2 week vacation from Geeks Who Drink during the holidays.  I hope you had a fun time hanging out with family and friends.  I went back to Ohio, where it’s gray and the weather mostly sucks.  But it was good to get out of town and see some different faces.  The best thing about traveling for me is getting to hang out in airports.  I love people watching and airports during the holidays is like going to the zoo.  I like to guess where someone is from based on the clothing they are wearing.  If you have a bunch of sparkly stuff or excessive stitching on the pockets of your jeans, I think Texas or other places in South America.

 

After such a slow night at the Quiz and I expect one more week of it until college kids get back in town, the quiz might be in danger at the Tomichi Tavern.  But if it doesn’t work out for the bar anymore, there are some other places in town that might be interested in having us.  I will keep you updated!  See you next week!

If you don’t like the bar tabs to be half as much, only good for 2 weeks, and not good on Thursday, drink more!  The Quiz at the Tomichi Tavern is in jeopardy!  Ironic to say this but, Gunnison might not have enough drinkers to keep the quiz alive! Think of other towns that don’t even have a quiz.  They would want you to go to a quiz on Thursdays!  It’s a cold walk/ride home from the bar and an extra shot before you leave won’t make it warmer, but you will care less about how cold it is.  Speaking of cold, the bar was freezing tonight!  I hope it isn’t an attempt to same some money on Thursdays.  I’m glad it was Ugly Sweater Night.  Thanks to everyone that wore a sweater.  By the way, everyone has an ugly sweater.  Maybe your friends have said anything to you yet.  Before I go home to Ohio for Christmas, I like to go to Six Points and buy a weeks work of clothing.  When my mom sees the weird shit I ‘normally’ wear for that week, she will take me out for more new clothes.  In reality,  I’m a trip to Six Points away from looking really homless.

It was nice to wake up to some snow in town.  I now know how women feel.  A couple of inches at night will get you excited, but6-8 inches is something you remember and wish for more!  Next week is Ugly sweater night!  Earn some extra points for ugly sweaters.  Don’t forget about Mondo Monday Movies, that’s right, it’s on Monday.  Show up at the Tomichi Tavern around 7.  This week’s movie is Evil Dead 2.  If you are a movie fan, you should be there.  Don’t forget to call your Mom!
