at least until he wins the lotto.

You guys are kind of dicks, you know that? You had me read out all the clues on our sooner or later round even though everybody had turned it in.  I know what you’re saying: why didn’t you just count the number of answers turned in?  Well, I did. We had 1 more than the number of teams I thought I had. I had at least 1 new team, did I have two, perhaps? Some hand waiving and pointing seemed to indicate I did in fact have another team working on the round, but nope.  You’re just a bunch of time wasting jerks.

But look at my benevolence in the face of your jerkiness. Five different teams got prizes this week. Blokes with and Blue Brawlers (our late arrivals) picked up some Pabst Blue Ribbon coozies for their last place finishes, as did Jurassic Parks & Recreation for losing their bid in our third place tiebreaker. The winners of said tiebreaker, Team Owesome got a big ole tub of pork rinds. That Team Over There picked up our second place $20, and Mr. Phallic Baldwin got the $30 victory prize.

A few musical notes for you all this week. Remember, it’s Maybe I’m Amazed, not Baby I’m Amazed.  Be careful not to confuse Rock and Roll (Part 2) with the similar, but distinct Rock and Roll (Part 1).  Finally, remember that it’s the only slightly creepy title of Every Breath You Take, not the super creepy (but accurate to the song) I’ll Be Watching You.

So we’ve had another light week here at the pub quiz, which I’m gonna blame on end of the semester craziness.  The pitfalls of a pub quiz in a college town, I guess.  Still, ya’ll are missing out on some fun times.  Check out this photo of our last place team, Kobayashi Maru, and the day old bread from Jimmy John’s they won for their efforts:

This is how to react to that:

Erotic!  Luckily, we didn’t have to resort to the suggested ‘limp biscuit’ contest for third place, I suspect that this sort of behavior is a lot less charming when it’s not being done with oversized bread penises.  Team Owesome, Sisquo’s One-Handed Cartwheel (which I think refers to Sisqo’s one-handed cartwheel), Phallic Baldwin, and Hobo Camp all had to guess what Roxy’s employee Jason had in its nastly little pocketses—I mean, guess how much money he had on him, price is right style.  The moral of the story?  Don’t underestimate the amount of cash you carry when you work at a bar. Team Owesome walked away with our third place prize, a box of limp biscuits fresh baked cookies.

Oh, and That Team Over There won, while Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse took second.  Sound familiar?  That’s because they win all the time!  You can beat them, I’ve seen it.  You just need to bring your A games, though.  And your butts, they need to be in seats in order to beat people.  I want to get a wide variety of people drunk, but you need to do your part.  So hopefully I see you all with full teams next week!

I guess it’s that time of the year.  Finals season.  We had a somewhat precipitous drop in the number of teams this week, and I suspect that scholastic conflicts might have something to do with that.  Hell, even I am affected—I’ve got to write one of those finals our erstwhile quizzers seem to be so concerned with. So forgive me if I fail to wax quite so poetic as I normally do.  On a completely unrelated note, check out this dick demon thing:



Some quizzers appeared to be impressed by the national attention one that a previous drawing is getting, and wanted to make lightning strike twice.  We’ll see if this makes the cut for the main GWD Facebook page, but I don’t know if this is quite up to the same level as 1.21 Gigacocks, a true American masterpiece.

Beyond our inguinal artistic interests, we also happen to play a pub quiz.  You know who are pretty good at the pub quiz? That Team Over There and Everything’s Coming Up Milhouse!  Both teams are no strangers to the winner’s circle, and guess who were our first and second place winners (respectively)? Jurassic Parks & Recreation (my favorite team name of the week, and show I most want to see, by the way) are a bit newer to our little group, but have been making some big waves.  Last week they won the whole enchilada, but this week were only able to come away with the cheesiest prize ever offered by Roxy’s for third:

It appears that Milhouse & Jurassic were both foiled by the same round this week: the things on a Huntsman Swiss Army Knife.  Both teams had the lowest scores in the bar for this round.  I don’t really know if I have a point beyond that, but that’s a neat thing to know, right?

Oh and hey, check it out: Amino Disrespect picked up a bar shaker set for last place. Not bad.
