When I'm not busy asking questions of you know-it-alls, I'm busy deciding the fates of small time actors in Central Texas.  Ever had a dream to play "Fast Food Patron #6" in some low budget film?  I'm your gal!

I should just learn now that for the rest of summer, we're gonna be busy.  Patio was full a good half hour before quiz.  All my regulars out tonight too, which makes me SO DAMN HAPPY.  No, really, when one of my regular teams is missing, I start to worry.  Are they ok?  Did they get in an accident? Are they eating all their vegetables?   I'm like your own, personal, Jewish mother.

Tonight, we started our quiz, walking down memory lane with a look back at the summer of 2012.  Back when things were simple and bread cost a nickle.  Also, best mash up round ever for round 2, for no other reason than I will now make it my life's mission to figure out how to get Jay-Z to collaborate with Dolly Parton.

And then there was the sooner or later round.  Geography.  I think we now know your weak point when it comes to quiz categories, Rabbits.

Oh, and the Jeremy Lin Ben And Jerry's Flavor?  Accused of being racist.  Yum.  Delicious, delicious racism.

Oh, and you don't know geography and you've never heard of Argon but god damn are you ready to jump my ass for our missing the name of some nu-metal front man.  But, really, our bad.  Thankfully our misstep didnt change our winners.  Congrats to UB41 who are really proving to be a force to be reckoned with and good job to Fabulose for losing by only 2 points.  And while House Hodor didn't win any of the big prizes, they did put up a point for their Rumble in the Pub team.  Remember, there is only 4 days left to sign up for Rumble.  Any 1st, 2nd or 3rd place wins you've had since June 1 will count towards your team total!

See you all on Thursday!

Happy Day After Quiz! We had a lovely breeze all night (mostly thanks to Richard from Fabulose) and so much quizzy competition in the air.  3 of the 8 teams who played last night are playing Rumble in the Pub (not too late to sign up, you know!), including House Hodor, who I've missed terribly.  With Moms who Drink and perennial favorites Fabulose also in attendance, we knew it would be a tight game.

And a special thank you to those 2 guys who came to watch the Spurs game and didn't even yell at me when they learned that the sound would be off and, instead, they'd have to listen to 14 second clips of Rob Thomas singing "Smooth" paired with my inane jokes.

Can we just pause for a moment and relive that round 3 with the rap lyrics?  "Big Pimpin" and Missy Elliot's "The Rain" are on heavy rotation for me at karaoke so doing that round without cluing you in on the song or the beat or anything was tough but damn was it fun.  Reading rap lyrics in my best, Waspy voice is now my new favorite hobby.

With a perfect, jokered round 2, Mom's who Drink held on to the lead the whole night, but slowly, and surely, House Hodor and Fabulose started to gain on them.  And after round 8, The mom's had dropped to 3rd, only 1 point behind Hodor and Fabulose, who tied for 1st.  So, we played a round of Urban Dictionary.  My husband was at quiz last night so I asked him to give me a noun and a verb and I got "Goose Fight".  Both entries were amazingly vulgar and hilarious and let me know a little more about you all.  I'm terrified.  But it was House Hodor who terrified me the most with their entry of "An asshole clenching over a nipple", just slightly more than Fabulose's "Much like a swordfight -- taking place at a urinal between drunk college dudes, with crossing of streams".  And now that we've talked about both of these things, I can promise you it now exists as porn on the internet.

See you all next week of, hopefully, see you all on Saturday for Game of Thrones quiz!!

My quizzers?  THE BEST! Why?  Well, 2 weeks ago, one of the team members from The Most Interesting Team in the World won some free dessert on me.  And this week?  Monica came up to me to say "We totally didnt tell you thank you for the dessert and we feel like asses so we got you a thank you card".  Ya'll.  They THANKED ME FOR WINNING.  Rest of you?  Take note.

And we already had some shit talking between teams for Rumble in the Pub.  Reminder, it starts on June 1st.  And you can play multiple times a week and earn points for all of your wins, not just your win with me.

But we are getting ahead of ourselves.  Quiz! I wish more of you had caught on to the fact that we just repeated the Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum pattern, in that order, twice to give you the 8 questions.  Geeks Who Drink are fun, and creative and smart but also very very sneaky.

My other favorite round tonight was the fish round.  Congrats to Moms Who Drink for being the only team who knew who Lew Zeland was.

Ya'll really kinda tanked on that round 7 audio round where you had to tell me if singers were male or female.  2 teams go a 2.  The average was a 4.  Next week, I'm playing nothing but Klaus Nomi.

We finished the night with a tie between Taint Seepage and Moms who Drink for that 2nd place spot (Fabulose, of course, in first, SPOILER ALERT!).  I THOUGHT doing a simple "Draw me the outline of West Virginia" tie breaker would a quick and fun way to settle the score.  OMG, so much "But look! this is more west virginia-y than this part!" and "No, wait, turn it more this way and its so so so west virginia-y".  Whatever.  My quiz.  My rules.  My opinions reign supreme and it was Mom's Who Drink and their drawing of a sperm with elephantiasis over Taint Seepage's disembodied chicken head that won.

See everyone next week.
