So it should have been like an empty nest quiz, right? The college got out the day before – just last week there were 14 skateboards lined up at the door – we’re right by the college…but no. Empty nest? Pshaw – more like the largest quiz we’ve had in a while. EVERYONE ELSE had come out to play.

With 15 teams, it was a loud one tonight but it stayed true to Tony’s pseudo-hipster fashion. Plenty of groans and whines on rounds about Hall of Famers and TV commercials, but a strange, humorous fascination with the round on TV Shows by someone who’d never seen them (ironic, yes. Soooo hipster…)

We also welcomed LOTS of quiz virgins tonight (don’t worry, we were gentle) including The handsome guy at the bar who just moved here with a good job – not a strong quizzer (but welcome to Colorado Springs nonetheless) – tried to make him a love connection (even a quiz connection) but don’t think we were too successful…sorry.

But our winners of the night were imports from just a few blocks north on Tejon. Congratulations I R kiss my S! Not first time quizzers but first timers to Tony’s. In second, our new powerhouse Lucky Dinosaur Hats – who really only has one dinosaur hat among them…should rethink their name…

In third, what became of the Sex Pile, #Sex Rubble. Good job guys. See you all next week…

It’s like a Jeff Foxworthy joke – “You know you run quiz at a college bar when…” For reals – for example, our second place team, Dope Francis has been a regular. These girls have tried and tried and by golly, they’re seniors and graduating next week so this week was their last quiz – congrats on finally getting second.

I also present to you Exhibit numero dos – the skateboards. No, I wasn’t taking a picture of that guy’s ass – look at all the scoreboard, they all came in on those.  Exhibit 3 – when your camera is “having a moment” – everyone tries to help you fix it. I’m Asian – I know how to work a camera…I think…

And to make an allusion (it is an allusion, right?) to graduation and moving on, it seems fitting that we’ve ushered in a new round of champion teams. Last week’s champion, Lucky Dinosaur Hats, finally claimed that big win. (I say finally – last week was their first time) Then there was Dope Francis and last week’s champions, Suffering Bastards came in third. None of our regular powerhouses to be seen in the upper ranks!

And while my camera was being a total jerk – there were some FUNNY responses tonight. A bunch of giddy college students are a bunch of comedians. Apparently Nancy Regan was a babe before marriage – who knew! (And don't ever make a joke that you're a "cheap date" when you slug down your beer - you will have college boy friends - not boyfriends - for LIFE.)

Well, to all of my quizzers I lost this week and this was your last quiz because you’re graduating – congratulations. May the Force be with you and keep on quizzing! Kick some ass, take some names…

Okay, so it was the only night where it was acceptable to giggle at diseases…at all. Thanks Quiz Gods for that gem of a round. No matter how much people wanted to bellyache, everyone was still giggling..a little.

They giggle a lot at Tony’s…if you can’t tell. Between that and Kate Winslet’s naked bod, you might have thought I was quizzing a bunch of teenagers (man that sounds kind of dirty wrong).  And oh yeah, that censor in the Wishbone song in Round 7 – maybe I missed the joke but that one resulted in an uproar of laughter – apparently people thought it was saying something WAY dirtier. (Yeah, my quizzers were denied joys like TV as children, they were forced to do horrible things like play outdoors and they were all too happy to tell me about it!)

But tonight saw 2 new teams doing well – VERY well – placing first and third (don’t think that sat too well with Task Force: Bitch Mob who came in second, but hey, it’s good for them – keeps that competitive fire in them, eh?

Suffering Bastards jumped out in front EARLY with a near-perfect-and-jokered Round 2.  Early on it looked like there was NO way anyone could catch them, but near the end the other teams were chipping away on that lead.

Lucky Dinosaur Hats – won’t lie, at first I thought “What the heck kind of name is this?” Then you see the guy…in a dinosaur hat…that’s evidently lucky.  Turns out it was because their strong Round 8 and joker put them in front and tore through the competition like a T-Rex tearing through Jurassic Park.

And Tony’s quizzers – I’m proud of you guys on that Round 3! Sports rounds aren’t traditionally their strength but everyone did really well – we may convert you to a bunch of meatheads yet!
