I like to play music, skateboard, and quiz!

Our night was full of ties, and not the fancy kind. I thought the end was gonna be an upset but there was a clear well deserved winner. Round one was a recently in stuff round that offered us fabulous news on two of our favorite things, Hilary Clinton and the IRS. Round 2 is an audio round themed as “Is There Something You’re Trying To Tell Us?”. This included some slightly homoerotic songs by the likes of the Village People and Reel Big Fish. Round three was a fun round on true and false phrases, which brought us into our first scoring break. There were ties galore with a four-way tie for third with 24 points with Schmitty Cat Kitty Cat Baby Cat, Awesome #1, Boobs, and Testicular Bindle. In second was the Garbage Pail Adults with 25 points and one point ahead in first was the Seeping Wounds with 26 points. Round four showed us all how much we really knew about first ladies. The Reagans and Clintons came up the most. Round five was a visual round on celebrity charities and round six was on famous Muhammads and Alis. Our second scoring break brought on the ties again. A four-way tie for third with 43 points was Seeping Wounds, Testicular Bindle, Schmitty Cat Kitty Cat Baby Cat, and That’s A’ Paddlin. A tie for second place with 44 points was Garbage Pail Adults and Samurai Pizza Cats and in first place was a three-way tie with Awesome #1, I’m Forever Yours Steve Perry, and Boobs with 46 points. Round seven picked it back up with an audio round on ZooTV! If you don’t get it from the title you’d have to be there. Round eight was our usual random knowledge round which covered “knowledge” about Justin Bieber and 3-D Movies.  Our game closed with Testicular Bindle in third with 69 points, a tie for second with 74 points with Boobs and Garbage Pail Adults, and Samurai Pizza Cats in first with 75 points. Samurai Pizza Cats definitely deserved it as they are seasoned veterans. See you guys next week!

Round one was a round on thirty-year old things, that is, things or people that had their beginnings in 1983. We covered everything from Hooters to AOL. We also learned of Mario’s debut in the gaming world as “Jump Man” in Donkey Kong. Next was our usual round two audio round, this time on karaoke versions of the 8 most popular karaoke songs. Round three gave everyone 2 and a half minutes to name 8 NBA teams that made the postseason four years in a row. Basketball nerds eat your heart out. The first scoring break held Band of Bazongas in third with 33 points, a tie for second with Finkel Is Einhorn and Call Me with 36 points, and The Can Ams in first with 38 points. Round four brought us back into the swing of things with a theme of heaven and other places that don’t exist, somehow geeks managed to get blowjob jokes in there. Round five was another quite juvenile visual round on films where Kate Winslet takes her clothes off. This was a favorite of many. Round six was a rather difficult round. If you all were lucky enough to experience before and after rounds before we had another one of those. This paired up famous people with diseases. Some standouts where Maya Angelou Gehrig’s Disease and Cholerandy Travis. Our second scoring break was very similar to the first and had Call Me in third with 53 points, Finkel Is Einhorn in second with 55 points, and The Can Ams still holding the lead with 57 points. Round seven was another audio round where you had to identify the kid’s show from the theme song. Dig into your inner child; we all were from the visual round. Round 8 was the usual random knowledge round that covered everything from antonyms named after planets to what Olympic team premiered Speedos. If you missed this round you missed a lot of valuable information. The game came to a close and the final standings were Krap Kannon taking third with 64 points, a tie for second with Finkel Is Einhorn and Spok N Lock with 66 points and this week’s champions The Can Ams with 71 points. It was a birthday versus birthday sort of game tonight with teams Traditions Loves Ami and The Birthday Party competing with each other while toting team member’s birthdays. Fortunately winning the quiz doesn’t have any merit on your birthday actually happening. Our first round was on colors so most with a color oriented memory were able to do well on this round. We then moved into our usual round two audio theme but this week had some fun with some interesting mash-ups. Notable and most enjoyed seemed to be Carley Rae Jepson and Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine and the Glenn Miller Orchestra and Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Motorhead. Round three was a possible double point round, one of four tonight! Basically you were given movie titles as clues and asked to identify the main actor whose death was featured in that film. Some questions were definitely harder than others. This brought us to our first scoring break with Man Cleavage clutching bronze with 34 points, Finkel Is Einhorn with a solid hold on silver with 36 points, and The Birthday Party grabbing the gold with 40 points. Round four was a round on dictator anagrams. I don’t know how we think of these sorts of things; docile farts = Fidel Castro. Round five tested everyone’s knowledge on legal herbs and round six was all about genies, video game, television, and otherwise. Our second scoring break put Full House in third with 51 points, Man Cleavage in second with 55 points, and The Birthday Party still in first with 61 points. Round seven was another audio round this week also worth double points. It was a series of sound clips where you were asked to identify the comic book villain and the movie the clip was from. Round eight was our usual random knowledge and covered everything from the Bermuda Triangle to the death penalty. We also learned a little too much about the odd names of the Palin and Romney families. The game came to a close with a suuuper close match up. Full House stole third with 69 points, Man Cleavage held tight to second with 80 points, and The Birthday Party took first place with a 1 point lead at 81 points. A very happy birthday to Tanar.
