After a brief sojourn into the land of adult responsibility, I have returned. I am sure the kind souls who looked after you did a bang up job. Many thanks to Julia and Pete for babysitting.
In the first round we had a mystery, but not Mystery Date. That one must not have been Milton Bradley. Oh, and I will NEVER listent to Ticket to Ride the same way again.
Light was the common theme for the audio round. Teams didn't do very well on this one. I shoulda used the Ellie Goulding song, but I'm not that hip.
We had a Sooner or Later round 3 on Hall of Famers. This one was rockin. Y'all did great.
The fourth round was a description of television shows from someone who'd never seen them. Drinking Team and Bill Paxton did great w a perfect 8
The visual was fictional mayors you had to name. Only Tea Party Audit got all 8, but several teams got 7. Must watch more Buffy.
Round 6 was on Ninjas. Didn't see them coming, did you? Nipplegate got them all. I wish I'd seen the NINJA tour.
Our visual round was Literal Videos. Again, Nipplegate got them all. It helps to have old people on your team who remember when MTV actually showed videos. You should check out. Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart. It's my favorite Literal Video.
And, as always, it came down to Random Knowledge in Round 8. High score was Tea Party Audit with 11. Only kinky foot fetishes knew the big toe is called the hallux, so dont' feel too bad. Guess y'all need to eat more salsa at Chipolte...or not.
See y'all next week. Have a safe Memorial Day!

Howdy Quizzers! I was subbing for your normal QM Jamey tonight and I have to thank (most of) you for being so nice to me! Obviously it was a little intimidating to come in and see a team named We Want Jamey right off the bat, but those guys (and one gal!) warmed up to me by the end. Or they at least pretended to. I'll take what I can get.
ANYWAY!
Quiz tonight had a few particularly interesting wrong answers! I'll paraphrase the good stuff for you.
R1: 30 year old things
--Of American Idol alumni, the one that has sold the most albums is the country singer Carrie Underwood. I can't decide if I'm disappointed in all the people who put Kelly Clarkson, or if I'm impressed that they've resisted Idol so long. Probably a little of both.
--Lots of you put lots of random shit for movies that 11-year-old Anna Paquin won an Oscar for. The correct answer was "The Piano." That was somewhat obscure, so I'm not surprised by how many people missed it. What I am surprised by is how many people thought that anyone could've won an Oscar for movies like Fly Away Home and Jumanji. Also, somebody apparently thinks the little girl from Poltergeist was 11 years old and a future Bon Temps fairy. *sigh*
--A 30 year old young adult book series about identical twins Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield? You guys basically split yourselves into two camps: the camp of the correct answer, Sweet Valley High, and the camp of the So Very Wrong answer, The Babysitter's Club. The twins in the BSC were Jewish girls Abby and Anna and they didn't come along until like halfway or more through the series. The main BSC girls were Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacy, Dawn, Mallory, and Jessie and yes I did all that from memory thankyouverymuch.
R2: Karoake hits--I played a clip of the Karaoke version of a song, you identified the song and original artist.
--Apparently nobody knows that the ORIGINAL artist who recorded Black Velvet was Alanna Myles. Also, someone thought the song was called "White Velvet," which is about the closest you can get while still failling utterly.
R3: Sports NBA speed round
--Something about basketball? And it was the LA Lakers, not the Clippers. Seriously.
Skipping ahead to R6, a before and after round! Which was glorious. Jack Kerouacne is my favorite. Also, I cannot believe you guys mixed up Maya Angelous and Tony Morrison. COME 'ON.
Annnnd the only other eventful piece of this evening was that we had a two-way tie for first and went into FIVE sudden death questions, which I've never seen before. In the end Kate Winslut finally got a question right that Free my monkey---@jbieb did not. I'm just glad we didn't win on the next Sudden Death q; no one wants Honey Boo Boo to be the reason they won, amiright?
Well I had a great night with you guys tonight! Come on out next week and don't forget our GAME OF THRONES quiz in June!
