We had some real stumpers tonight, that's for sure.  But, in true Black Star fashion, y'all pulled it off.  And with minimal casualties!

I did learn two things tonight: people really like Black Sabbath, and people really don't like Belle and Sabastian.  Makes sense, I guess I just never really experienced the intensity of those two facts before tonight.

Next week will be my one-year mark as Quizmaster at Black Star, so expect double prizes, extra challenges, and more!

Thanks for spending the latter part of your Mother's Day with us!  Now is the time of the year when Facebook is flooded with rabid exaltations of millions of mothers by their offspring.  When the internet is inundated with cheap deals on bouquets and spa treatments.  When I call my mom, and she tries to make me feel guilty for not calling her earlier.

But having your knowledge tested while you imbibe one-of-a-kind beers is exaclty the way I want to round out any weekend!

By the way, I wonder what Bob and Enrique do with their plethora of e-mail bonus prizes...

Do they have their collections of Geeks Who Drink winnings in, like, a glass display case, with recessed lighting and burgundy velvet lining...?

...the much more likely story is that the prizes they've won are scattered throughout the already-cluttered interior of their respective cars.  Which would be apropos, since that's where they came from-- the dark bowels of my cluttered Toyota.

Generation X-Treme sounds more like an alternate title for BMX Bandits.  I mean, while we're being honest and all.

Happy Drinko de Mayo!  We had some special rounds tonight to celebrate Mexico's fleeting victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla!  And, of course, said rounds were all about alcohol and hot sauce!

Hot damn!

By the way, it's worth noting that the Reagan administration tried to get ketchup and pickle relish classified as vegetables, since botanically speaking, neither of those are even derived from vegetables in the first place.  Both tomatoes and cucumbers have seeds, and are therefore technically fruit.

Chew on that for awhile.
