We had a nice close quiz at Firewater Grille last. Four teams kept the scoreboard shifting around thought the quiz. In the end, Sleep Well, Dead Weight beat Bazinga! by only one point for first place.

Things I learned during the quiz:

-Beatrix is apparently Latin for “blonde lady who kills a lot of people with a sword”

-Gadzooks originally meant “God’s Hooks”. By the way “God’s Hooks” is the name of Christian heavy metal band.

-The Thing’s battle cry of “It’s clobberin’ time” is also what I say when I pet a kitty.

James’ Funniest Team Name Award goes to: Bazinga!

Honestly, if you are at an event call Geeks Who Drink and you don’t know what movie Lambda Lambda Lambda is from; then you walked into the wrong place, brother.

Things I learned at the quiz:

-In the USA, we have 3 names for one type of beer, yet only one word for love. (That word is love, by the way)

-Operation Fortitude will be the subtitle for the Three’s Company video game form last night (Blog crossover joke!)

-The Sex Pistols version should the national anthem for the UK.

We had our first email bonus question winner last night: Mary! She walked off with J.P. Patches bobble head, just what every graduate needs.

James’ Funniest Team Name: Hustla Da Rabbit

James’ Funniest Answer Award goes to Tres Borrachos for their round 4 question 5 answer: Finger Lickin’ Good. 

Last night there was a question about a superhero team and the correct answer was Aqua Teen Hunger Force. However, all seven teams at the Firewater Grille answered The Fantastic Four.  Weird, right? Not really.

Smells Better Than It Tastes won 1^st place by only one point over Andrew and Ashley. It was a thrilling competition.

Things I learned at last night’s quiz:

-George Lucas is re-releasing the Star Wars series in 3-D next year, which means I will be staying off the Internet next year to avoid the inevitable nerd rage.

 -That’s it. Everything else I already knew. I am very smart. Now you know that.
