It is almost official. This geek who drinks is soon to officially be one of many geeks who teach! I was offered a full time teaching position at a local high school, so I'm stoked. Though, it is actually a temporary fulltime position cuz someone is on leave... whatever :P

AS FOR THE QUIZ

We started a bit later than normal because of a basketball game. OKC and Mam or Mem or whatever. I don't know who won but it took them forever. We had to wait for the game to conclude so we didn't begin until 950, 10pm. Because of that I had to drop some rounds, so I did a collective vote. I read the titles of the rounds and the blurb of info about the rounds and had the patrons vote. We ended up doing 1, 4, 6, and 8 - but then we had to do R7 because there were too many tied scores. Even then I ended up with 3 teams in third. I was going to have a dance off, as requested by Bobby the Bartender, but my damn laptop froze up. I had to leave without posting my blog or saving the scores. Luckily it figured itself out without erasing scores and stuff, so all was well.

The teams opted to forego the audio rounds, which I thought was interesting because I consider them more fun. Though I am usually looking at the answers as I play them so to my it seems easy, but come to think of it, I'd probably struggle with them too.

Anyway, I ended up wasting a bunch of $ on visual rounds because I went to Kinko's. I lost my USB port so I had to go online using my credit card. It was a huge fandango that I hope to never encounter again. $10 on printing and no one even wanted to do the visual round. Pffft!

Oh and I wanted to say thanks for the welcome back greetings :) it's nice to be missed. I was at a funeral last week so don't worry. I wasn't having fun.

Vaginal Hubris taught me a new word. They were a nice team. There was one hubris guy in the room (Did you see that?) who was super irritated, which is ok. It's part of my job. You'd be amazed by what I don't know. The thing about me is....I'm the Quiz Master. If I want to say hubris like debris to rub it in that is my prerogative. I have all the power. That being said, I always try my best to have a fun quiz for everyone.

R1 was lacking one thing, and one thing only (that I care about): Polly Pocket. I had a rivalry with a neighbor girl growing up regarding this miniature wonderworld. The bitch stole my Polly Pocket Castle, traded it for a stuffed animal, and moved away. I hold grudges LAMF.

I digress.

R2 was encouraging - the only-A's in the song title made it trickier but most people did better than they would have on a less-obvious-clue-given round.

R3 - another sooner or later. Considering we had this PLUS another 16 pt round for R7, tonight could have had a butt load of points possible. Alas, we hovered around the norm.

R4 was all about bats and batman, so the nerds got juicy answering these Qs.

R5 was the dream visual. I didn't know PeeWee's PLay House could be any more terrifying...

R6 was ...revealing. A lot of guys have read up on Realdolls and that is not a compliment or something to be taken lightly.

R7 was funny. Everyone thought they'd p0wn it but most got owned instead. The only exec's that were known were Orville and Dave Thomas. Sam Adam's doesn't run Samuel Adams beer. And yes I know he is real but he isn't the REAL founder or exec of the company!

R8 was randomness. No one answered the Totino's pizza roll question correct because none of us are that old. Or care that much. Jeno's? Whodathought.

Oh we also had some new teams in the crowd tonight (they graced the bottom two of the hierarchy of quizzing). Better luck  next time!

And in closing, I'd like to give a virtual shout out to my good friend Karla Munoz. She was in a motorcycle accident Sunday night and passed Monday morning. You're one bad-ass motherfucker, dude, and it pains me to think of you no longer around. Adieu, good friend.
