Not only was it hot as hell out today, but this Sunday was also the day of the celebration of motherhood and yet my geeks still managed to come out to the quiz and make sure I wasn't drinking and sweating alone. They are the best. Team TRIVIASAURUS REX even brought out their completely awesome sisters moms for the event. That's dedication.
After enjoying some Kenny Rogers (which is impossible not to do), Jon Stamos on steel drums (his natural state) and kung fu fighting, the teams left taking the top spots were RUBBER BABY BUGGY BUMPERS in 3rd, RULERS MAKE BAD LOVERS (artists previously known as I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH!) in 2nd and TRIVIASAURUS REX (with some sisterly motherly help) taking 1st place!
Special impress points go to RULERS MAKE BAD LOVERS for knowing the name of the first Beatle to die in 1962, to THE PICKLED TAINTS for being the only team to ace the Beatles vs Stones round and bar staff Morgan and Gina for the chest bumps and Windex shot.
Happy belated Mother's Day, geek moms and special shout out to my own mother, Lyn, an amazing human being and fellow nerd who somehow manages to love me to this day. I promise someday it will be worth it. I think.

After spending a week at Disneyland in quasi-sunny California, I've returned with a newfound hatred for strollers, children and a nasty cold. Thankfully for my geeks at The White Rabbit, a little bit of Dayquil and a lot of vodka go a looong way.
Tonight we learned a little about the personal issues of mermaids, the formulation of shitty haikus, how to properly party in the U.S.A and that Paris Hilton, in fact, pre-dates Lindsay Lohan. I didn't say it was important information.
The most patriotic and poetic teams of the night turned out to be THE IRON PRICE IS RIGHT in 3rd place, NERDY DEEDLES in 2nd and quiz veterans TRIVIASAURUS REX taking a well deserved 1st!
I learned that being patriotic and photogenic are different things when after the general quiz end clapping, I mentioned photos for the blog and several geeks made sure they got the hell out of there ASAP. This either means they were afraid I would find out they were vampires or they have warrants out for their arrest. Either way, not as proud to be Americans as I thought. Well, at least we know we're free, right?
Thanks again to everyone for playing my mini game of chance, TRIVIASAURUS REX for the best unintentional funny answer of the night, THE IRON PRICE IS RIGHT for purposefully outing Maurice Sendak and of course, the bar staff, Sarah and Gina who I finally showed the definition of a nerd afterparty when a flurry of Fireballs and Angel Farts later, YouTube Videos. SO MANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS.

If you recognized the title of this blog entry, than you possess knowledge of 90's Swedish pop group, Roxette. You are awesome. Unfortunately for my geeks, they were painfully unaware of these makers of happiness and love songs. Thankfully for everyone, I have their greatest hits album on my iTunes and they got to know them very well. VERY WELL.
Speaking of pop music torture, tonight we had a round on songs as covered by the karaoke experts at GLEE. It was a round majorly enjoyed by at least three people. To lighten the mood, I was sure to play some of the greatest love songs ever written available on YouTube like, "Quit Playin' Games With My Heart," "Back For Good," and "Bye, Bye, Bye," complete with music videos full of white dudes break dancing while being sprayed by a water hose. P.S. Mom, this is the stuff I watched growing up in high school and yes, it's why I'm weird.
Speaking of winning, here are the final results of the night! The geeks were neck and neck for the top three spots, but in the end, thanks to some skillful decisions regarding the joker face, THAT'S ENOUGH JOHN MAYER took 3rd place, TRIVIASAURUS REX came in 2nd and the unstoppable (almost) undefeated monster that is two person team, I'M THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH! took 1st!
See you geeks next week and don't forget, don't blame your Quizmaster for mispronouncing the name of rapper Flo Rida, blame the key lime pie shots.
