You belong to me!  I belong to you- ooh!  Okay, enough with the Boyz II Men (that song is kind of creepy).  It’s true, geeks.  Sunday was the VERY LAST DAY EVER of the Geeks Who Drink pub quiz at the White Rabbit!!  CRY!!  The White Rabbit will officially start closing every Sunday this month, so to all my regular geeks who missed out on the momentous last ever quiz last night and attempt to attend quiz next Sunday as per usual, sorry.  They’re closed. 

What a better way to say good bye forever than ask a bunch of questions about geography and the 50’s??  Right, guys??  PARTY!!!  And party we definitely sort of did!  We learned crying sucks, Jem of the Holograms broke up with Rio once (get it girl!) and other important stuff about falafel!  White Rabbit vets TRIVIASAURUS REX and SMOKIN’ IN THE GIRL’S ROOM battled it out hard for the very last White Rabbit quiz victory, but SMOKIN’ IN THE GIRL’S ROOM came out victorious taking the lead with a 3 point margin!  New team VEXATIOUS QUEEFS came and conquered, maybe not the quiz, but definitely the Macarena dance.    

Well…this is it, I guess.  I’ve had THE BEST time being your Quizmaster over the past year, White Rabbit geeks.  It has sincerely been both a pleasure and a privilege.  I hope you learned as much from me as I learned from you (whatever that implies).  Special thanks to my regular teams who have made my quizzing experience the most enjoyable it could possibly be: TRIVIASAURUS REX, SMOKIN’ IN THE GIRLS ROOM, I’M THE JUGGERNAUT, BITCH, THE PICKLED TAINTS and of course Leslie, Chris and Tambre and their revolving weird team names!  You guys are all my favorites.  Also, thank you to TRIVIASAURUS REX and the lovely parting card with a suicidal T-Rex.  It made my night. 

Special SPECIAL thanks to the White Rabbit bar staff whom I will continue to see on a regular basis because they are so bad-ass: Sarah, Gina, Matt and Jason.  I couldn’t have made it through each night without these guys.  They are awesome party people and wizards and warriors behind the bar.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the quiz!!  Sunday may have started out seeming slightly benign, with only an Octoberfested out team of cell-phone DJs making some small waves, but then, out of nowhere, our generally family-friendly, laissez faire quiz time was rudely interrupted by THE FLAMES OF HELL ITSELF!!!  Also known as, a small fire in the cigarette ashtray out on the deck!!  Luckily, the bar staff and team TRIVIASAURUS REX sprang into action once the smoke began billowing and were able to tame the beast before anyone or any ash trays were seriously hurt.  Once the smoke cleared, one of the quizzers was sitting calmly on the deck, smoking a cigarette.  After I asked if she was okay, she calmly replied, "All the smoke was going in there so I didn't care."  Way to remain calm in the eye of the storm, team BUSSEY.  If only all of us could possess such a strong will.

Well, near death experiences aside, we were able to finish out the quiz in top form, we learned a lot of valuable lessons and now that I think about it, the smoke did bounce off the light from the disco ball nicely...

Lesson 1: If someone says "Is that on fire?" you should get up faster.

Lesson 2: That Psy song, "Gundam Style" stops being funny after two repeated clips.

Lesson 3: Wilson Phillips is not nostalgic for everyone.

Lesson 4: Kato Kaelin(sp?) is hard to spell.

Lesson 5: "Debbie Does Dallas" does not have a string instrumental theme song, but IT SHOULD.

After all the teams were neck and neck throughout most of the quiz, MASTIFF ELECTION was able to take 3rd with SMOKIN' IN THE GIRL'S ROOM and TRIVIASAURUS REX battling it out in a sudden death round for 1st!  Luckily for TRIVIASAURUS REX, one teammate was able to write out a historical figure's name quicker than SMOKIN' and subsequently won them 1st place!

Congrats everyone on a quiz well done and a fire well fought.  I'll see you next week with a lot less hullabaloo and a lot more so and such!

September 16th, 2012 - White Rabbit
I find myself in the White Rabbit, once again in the company of Elicia's Fans.They rather enjoyed, the Colorful intro round, which went with the the InternetBonus Question Prize. Just look at the photos, need I say more?
As for the Fourth round: A Load of ShitI was proud that I could provide them with an additional bonus question that I pulledout of what topically magical place, that isn't a magician's cap?
I'll leave one for you to think on.
It was a hard sell, but I manage to convince the loyal teams that I'm not a replacement.
Their fury subsided, they sit down to pubQuiz.
What do they seem to know at the White Rabbit?
Xtreme Upclose pictures of objectts and Artists at the Apollo.Perhaps close-ups of artists might work for them?
I'm guessing these topics are not their Forte?Colleges and Universities among various US State, the Round on Loads of Shit and get this: Random Knowledge!
They may need an education, perhaps a PhD? Piled higher and Deeper? I'm not suremyself.
