I believe that any mundane task could be improved with the addition of a Star Wars costume. Driving a car? Mowing the lawn? Shopping at Costco? Add a Darth Vader costume, INSTANT HILARITY.

I am a bookish geek (I read a lot, I randomly edit grammar in advertisements, and I quote Douglas Adams quite a lot).

I attend several geeky conventions every year, either as a rabid fangirl or a staff member.

I go to Renaissance Faires as a legit pirate. I have a sword, a pistol, and two daggers. I am constantly adding to my sword collection (my reasoning: in the event of a zombie apocalypse, I am prepared).

I love inventing plays-on-words (I'M A PUN ROCKER), and I mock whatever movie I'm watching in the theatre (MST3K-style).

I love costumes- Pride and Prejudice Zombie, Black Knight, Captain Hammer or Female!Moist, Velma Dinkley, AVPM Snape, etc.

My motto is: you don't know if you'll epically fail or epically win at something until you give it a shot.

Remember: prepare for the Zombie Apocalypse, avoid the Bog of Eternal Stench, don't piss off the internet, and most importantly, Don't Panic.

Unfortunately, tonight was the last pub quiz night at the Temecula Killarney's. Those still wanting to compete are advised to take their ass-kicking skillz to the Riverside Killarney's, which meets Wednesdays at 7pm.

This aside, it was a pretty easy-going night. We had three teams show up (we would have had 4 but I know one team is on some sort of Thanksgiving Cruise).

Thank you to This Quiz Is A Lie for being you. I know one of you had to travel quite far to be here, and I really truly appreciated it. As for the other two, you know I heart you long time. And despite your brazen inability to remember answers you knew, I appreciate the doodles more than you know.

As for Fezzes Are Cool, it would have been cool if you actually wore fezzes tonight, but I understand. You consistantly win and aren't afraid to correct my pronunciation of certain obscure celebrities. I sincerely believe you should bring your amount of game to Riverside's Killarney's and show those suckers how it's DONE.

Hey, Moms' Night Out, you came back! Thank you for dancing during the audio round, you are amazingly wonderful. I hope you've all enjoyed your nights out here. You should also go show Riverside that moms can have the best time. I have the best hope you could win that $250 dollars.

Rounds tonight include:

*Surprise!

*Just Say No (audio)

*Mystery in 3 hints (actors known for 3 imdb movie/shows)

*Diamonds Are A Round's Best Friend

*Clowns (visual)

*Geeks With Boobs (nerdy girls)

*Mormons

*Random Knowledge

We started off pretty awesomely. Two teams, one of which are returning n00bies from last week. But they had an early morning (and a week off next week) so they left about halfway through.

And then we had one random team (aka an employee of the other cough KILLARNEYS cough) show up and answer one round by himself.

And then we had one random team show up and MANAGE TO WIN 2ND PRIZE HOLLLLLAAA.

Team Fezzes Are Cool, returning champs/regulars/my friends scored another 1st place victory. Despite a little bit of the talk-back I've come to expect during certain rounds they don't appreciate.

Team Milerand are new recruits that showed up for the last two rounds and still managed to win 2nd prize. They are that awesome. They tell me they'll be back next week but they probably won't arrive until 9. Personally, I think that if they can answer 2 rounds and win second prize, showing up an hour into quiz isn't going to hurt their score.

Team Stop UR Whining are my returning recruited teams from last week. Even though they left during Round 6, they still managed to win 3rd prize.

Rounds were as follows:

1 – Roadkill

2 – Dude Sounds Like A Lady (gender-bending vocals audio round)

3 – Canada

(for which Fezzes doodled what they consider to be the Canadian mascot)

4 – Stand-Up Comedy

5 – Visual on Stick Figure TV shows

6 – Pop-Culture Crustaceons

7 – Fictional Bands from Movies/TV Shows

8 – Random Knowledge (derp)

Well, my birthday is in two days. I was sort of hoping to have a pre-party of awesome via a whole bunch of teams making my night a busy one, but I guess I had to make do with doing a fantastic complete-with-moves rendition of “The Creep” by The Lonely Island. It's somehow more effective when you're wearing a sparkly dress. Who knew.

Wow was tonight an odd night. Only one person from one of our regular teams showed, but I managed to recruit 3 teams from the random bar stragglers. Of course, 2 of those new teams abandoned the cause early on, but hey! We finished with 3 teams! So that's awesome.

1st Placer was team Fezzes Are Cool, represented tonight by one solo player. Still, he managed to win the gold for his team, hoping they all show next week to take the venue by storm. He answered a bonus question correctly, too.

2nd Place was one of the hastily-recruited teams, team Balmy Tonight, a boy-girl team of only two, who managed to score quite a few questions correctedly. Hopefull they'll return next week to win some more prizes and kick a few teams to the curb.

3rd Placers were the team Stop UR Whining, who stayed a strong enough player that even though they left after 3 rounds, still managed to maintain 3rd Place. I didn't manage to snag a photo before they broke my heart and left, so I've got one forlorn snapshot of the table where they sat and the pencil they used.

4th Place (who took home 3rd place's prize because I said so) were late-comers He He He, a two-woman team joining the cause for the last 2 rounds. I mention them because they tried, even if they tried late in the game.

I hope all these teams AND MORE return next Monday at 8pm to win more prizes. Sign up for the email list and CHECK YOUR EMAIL after you do to Google-fu the bonus question for the prize, which went un-claimed this week, and it was a good one.

Did I mention I sharpened the pencils? Because I did. Nice and pointy. Please show up and use them. YOU WIN PRIZES. FOR FREE. FOR FUN. How are we not swamped with people?

Next week will be 2 days before my birthday, too. So if you don't show up just 'cause, show up as a present for me. I will dress in costume. Srs.
