I'm a good mix of Drink and Geek.  I'm big on the geeky TV and movie trivia, but I can drop some beer and liquor knowledge as well.  I'm 34 years old, but I still constantly get carded...hopefully that's a good thing.

Ah, Sundays in the fall.  The crisp air, the leaves turning, the Steelers collapsing...

Oh, wait...guess that last one was a BIT premature.  Don't get me wrong, I actually do like the Steelers, but I really wished they had waited another game to return to the teams that went to the Superbowl last year, and not demolished the Titans.  If only the bye week were long enough for Kenny Britt's ACL to heal...

You didn't come here to hear about football, though.  You won't have to really worry about that anymore, however, since this is the last Sunday you'll hear from me.  Yep, we're moving to Tuesdays.  Now, I might have to miss a few, as I have unchangeable plans for the next couple of Tuesdays (I paid too much for Wicked tickets to miss that show), but I'll still be trying to entertain and inform you on Thursdays.

We had an interesting Round 6 tonight, as teams actually got to wager points.  Some, like Robert the Bruce, wagered well (19 out of a possible 24).  Other wagered poorly.  One team did get -3 for the round.

Here's what we learned:

- Ford is very alliterative with their names...Fusion, Focus, Fairlane, Falcon, Fairmont, Failed Transmission...

- Over half of my playlist is 90's music, yet I didn't have any of tonight's audio round in my normal background music.

- Nobody cares about Sprint.

- I really should say “Spoiler Alert” before asking questions about the end of movies.

- Penn and Teller are not household names, and that is Bullshit.

-  A 9 letter word that means to have sex or to go through verb forms: Fornicate?  Really, people?  Did your English teacher always talk about fornicating verbs?

- Anthony, Hopkins, an English actor, has portrayed two American Presidents.

- People around here don’t know the difference between thunder and lightning…at least in German.

When the storm had subsided, and there was no more Donner or Blitzen, the champs regained their crown, avenging last week’s second place finish, and Sushi Coma came away with a victory.

So, a bit of a cool evening, but a good one, as the Titans basically embarassed the Browns...not that hard to do, especially since they insisted on using Hardesty instead of Hillis for some reason.  But, I know that you don't read this blog for my football commentary.  You probably don't read this blog at all.  As a matter of fact, you have no idea what I'm saying, because you aren't reading this right now.  I could say whatever I wanted about you.  Yeah, you.  You know what I'm talking about.  You know what you did...

But, enough about you.  Let's talk about what we learned today.

- Kazaam is still bad, but it was at least better than Steel.

- Bluegrass covers are awesome...could have used some Hayseed Dixie, though.

- Some Dagobah chocolates I want, Hmmm...

- Flash is ACTUALLY associated more with Macromedia, the people that created it, than Adobe, the people who bought Macromedia a few years ago.

- Rogue makes awesome beer.  So does Stone.  Anheuser-Busch, however, is still shit.

- Manischewitz is hard to spell, and I want a Kosher Cheesburger.

- I evidently don't listen to enough NPR, because I've never heard of Terry Gross.

- Boondock Saints is a fantastic film, I don't care what anybody says.  It's a classic, and the sequel was good, too.

After we learned everything, we came to the conclusion that Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters, possibly due to their team name, really knew their music, which helped propel them to a victory, unseating the defending champs.

So we are back to our normal quiz.  Absolutely no questions about obscure TV shows on networks nobody has heard of.  Of course, I watch shows that aren't even available in the US, so I guess I really shouldn't be one to talk.

I know you don't care, and all you want to know is what I learned this week.  Well, I'll tell you:

- There are still a slang terms for vulva we haven't used.

- Everyone remembers the 90s.  Nobody remembers Mase.

- Jack is awesome, whether he is Black or White.

- One of the Wachowskis had a sex change...Well, he didn't really remove his penis.  He just concentrated on remembering there IS no penis.

- Jimmy Dugan always has good advice.

- Bart Starr and Joe Namath evidently played for the Colts.

We also learned that we have a smart crowd, and had possibly the best overall game yet, with Squirrel!  pulling out of the tie they were in after round 7, and ending up our winner with an amazing 82 points.  See, kids?  It is important to know your obscure NWA members!
