It's always a good start to an evening when I get to ask a bunch of questions about food and fantasize that I'm eating all of it. Ok maybe I'd nix the horsemeat but it was still a mind feast. I would totally go over to the White Witch's side for the right snacks. Or as one team put it, for "weed cookies." Those would make me SUPER malleable for evil. Although I've always believed in using mind altering foodstuffs for good.
I also understand that there was a hockey game on last night? Possibly? I understood the fact of it being on the television much more vividly then I understood pretty much anything I was saying in the sports infraction round. There wasn't even any Quidditch. But anyway, I hope the skating men did what Boston wanted them to. Go team go?
Speaking of teams that have that get up and go attitude, we had some pretty dope ones last night. I mean when first and second place are both taken by Big Lebowski references you know you're pretty set in the class department. That's right, in first place we had Logjammin (porn!) followed by the plucky crew of Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. Rounding out the cool kids, team FELTON! got our third place prize AND gave me joy every time I got to yell their name to the heavens.
Thanks nerds, see you next week!

It was my first time at Tommy Doyle's last night as either a patron or quiz lady but I gotta be honest when I say: That place is tight! And the in house geeks aint bad either. I was pretty impressed by how many people got at least some of the founding father questions right because in my mind that was the equation on the blackboard in Good Will Hunting that only geniuses with emotional trauma can solve. But these guys had their oldey timey white dudes DOWN.
We also all learned together that Erykah Badu may or may not occasionally be mistaken for the Pussycat Dolls and that if the Pride and Prejudice remake had included X-Men mutant powers even curmudgeonly old English majors like myself would have welcomed it with open arms.
Our third place honors last night went to The Owen Twos, whose nachos I was caressing with my eyeballs all night. Second place was all about the Little Lebowski Urban Achievers, which I'm sure made Mr. Lebowski very proud. And thank god, the deliciously disgusting mental image that was Rumple Foreskin came in first. They had a really cute baby at their table and if they hadn't won I probably would have just handed them all the prizes, dropped the mic and walked out. You don't even understand how adorable this baby was so don't talk to me!
I gotta gets me my own nachos next time. But probably not my own baby.

Tommy Doyle's! Hell mo fuckin' yeah!
We had all the teams who mattered out tonight, so thanks for making yourselves known! Special recognition for Dog Food Lid Spelled Backwards is Dildo of God because... do I really need to even say why? Well, you'll be surprised to know that it's because it was one of the member's 27th birthday. Thanks for celebrating with GWD!
Questions were all over the place tonight! But you know what you answered... so lets talk some shit!
4 of the 6 teams opted to joker round 8, meaning standings were completely uncertain until the last second... may the best team names win!! That's what I always say, at least.
I must say I sincerely enjoyed the audio round tonight, culminating in Mmmbop which, thank the lord, EVERYONE got right. Sounds like I have a new addition to my regular playlist.
Everyone be thankful we ended on time (I think 1 minute past 9 PM EST), because at approx. 10:08 PM the lightning started. 10:24 I could hear the lightning. 10:31 rain started coming down at what I can only image was approximately 14 m^2/s (that's right... square meters per second). Holy fuck did I get drenched.
We had a great finish tonight with an extremely close 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. Learn some shit and come back to win!
Congrats to Archers of Loafcrosse, Bear + Deer = Beer, and Bunny Dressage is a Real Sport. YouTube it. Holy fuck that's funny.
Hope to see you all next week.
