We kept the streak going. This week’s sex-themed round was again the visual round where I showed pictures of eight pin up babes from the middle decades of the twentieth century for the Geeks to identify. And they did damn well on that round—six perfect scores. In fact, I had so many teams rock this quiz, that I’m sure multiple Geeks score records for the Tommy Doyle’s quiz were broken.

The first place team was Yahoo! Acquires Tatrs who topped out at 95 points, followed by Wrath of Cumberbatch with 91 points. Third place team You’re Mom ended with 87, while Tater Tot Insurrection had 85. Finishing in fifth was Nic Cage’s Hair is a BIRD, then 5 Past Lundqvist and 15,800 Miles from Home. Rounding out the standings was Fox News: A Pain in Obama’s IRS.

The first round was a mystery round, where all the answers were names of WWE wrestlers. That was followed by an audio round on songs by once incarcerated Britons. The third round was a sooner or later round where I listed off methods of death and the Geeks had to identify the movie they all happened in, and that was followed by a round on famous journeys (trips, not the band).

The visual round was the Hotties of Yore round, and after that was a round on the world’s brightest emerging economies: Brazil, Russia, India, and China. The second audio round required the Geeks to name the 90s TV show from its theme song and the random knowledge round included a sports question that amazingly everyone in the room got right.

As to the scores, there were some impressive ones. The average score of the audio round was 12.375, probably the highest we’ve ever seen. All the teams turned in their answer sheets for the sooner or later round after just three clues, and were rewarded for their risk as the lowest score was an eight. Even the random knowledge round got rocked as the teams scored an average of 13.125 points.

Thanks to all who came out for the quiz. Two weeks ago we had a round on sex toys and last week we had an audio round that played a clip from Porn for the Blind, so how on earth could we possibly top that? With a sex-themed visual round of course. Last night’s visual round showed 12 child actors and actresses and the Geeks had to identify which of the eight went on to show the goods (professionally, at least). And I have to admit I was pretty disappointed that more of you didn’t get Jennifer Connelly correct.

The Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz was back on the top floor at Tommy Doyle’s last night where we welcomed 13 teams to match wits on magic, (not) Mariah Carey songs, junk food, and much more. And at the end of the quiz, there was a first-place tie between The Schism and Ariel Castro’s Angels (ewww, really guys?), and after a five question tiebreaker, Schism finished on top for the win.

Third place went to Newt Gingrich’s Thingamawhatsit, followed by The Chris Christie Gastric Bypass Experience and Team Mango. Tying for sixth place were The Red Sox and Rake the Leafs. Eighth went to Drunks Who Geek, then 2 and a Half Pandas, KAAAAAAHN!!!!, Stephen Hawking’s Halfpipe, Spider Pig, and EP Woot!.

The first round was titled Short Film Credits and had me reading one actor’s name and the three initials for the movie he was in. That was followed by an audio round where each song title shared its name with a Mariah Carey song, and a multiple choice round where the Geeks had to identify which of the pair of junk food items came first.

Round four was on the sentence A man, a plan, a canal, Panama! This one let the grammar Geeks contribute as some of the teams knew that a dash is longer than a hyphen. The visual round was the aforementioned celebrity skin-baring round and the sixth round was titled Abracafuckingdabra—a round on all things magical. The second audio round required the Geeks to name celebrity cameos on King of the Hill and the random knowledge round was just that, random.

There were very few perfect scores—Chris Christie aced the Panama sentence round, and that was about it. Newt did pretty damn well on the random knowledge round, but it was not enough to move them into first place. Team Mango prematurely ejokerated, using their joker on a 7-point round when they scored 12 points in a later round. Let’s hope they learn their lesson for next time. See you guys next Monday and don’t forget to save the date of 6/8 for the Game of Thrones themed quiz where I hope to unveil my new King Joffrey punching bag. There’s only one way to top last week’s round on sex toys—a porn audio round! Well, okay, it wasn’t exactly an audio clip from a porn movie, but rather a clip from Porn for the Blind, where this one guy provided a narration of a preview clip from a porn film for the visually impaired. And his narration was pretty graphic—he even described one of the girls rubbing her breasts on this guy's penis while eating a pizza. And yes, there were eight questions that the Geeks had to answer from it at last night’s pub quiz at Tommy Doyle’s.

In addition to porn for the blind, there were rounds on current events, Swiss Army Knives, terrible children, and much more. And at the end of the night, Taters as a Social Construct came out on top with a score of 78 points. Finishing in second was Onion Hacked, Still More Reliable than CNN, followed by Waffle Meringue Productions and Control Alt Elite.

The first round was a Recently in Stuff round, followed by a circus-themed audio round. Next was a speed round that required the Geeks to name the tools from the Huntsman model of Swiss Army Knives excluding knives and screwdrivers. In this ode to MacGyver round, none of the teams were able to name hook or wire stripper.

Round four was titled Eight People Who Need to Get Off My Lawn and it had me reading descriptions of eight terrible children that the Geeks had to identify, including Joffrey Baratheon. After that round was the visual round where the Geeks had to name songs from the 70s as described by eight different Venn diagrams.

The sixth round was titled West is Best, and was about various wests, and that was followed by the porn for the blind round and the random knowledge round. Thanks to all who came and played the quiz last night.
