Hey Everyone!

My name is Richard Rasner, but most of you know me as "The Quiz Pimp" (thanks to Killarney's own Patrick for the nickname). I'm the guy up on the old-fashioned microphone calling out your quiz and playing awesomely terrible music during the scoring breaks.

When I'm not playing Quizmaster I'm playing photographer under the moniker "Unique Nudes" -- That's right, my 'day job' is taking pictures of naked people all over the world. And if that doesn't make you hate me enough, I also photograph live music, and spend my evenings hanging out backstage with rock stars such as Billy Idol, NIN, Papa Roach and more.  You can check out my Facebook if you don't believe me, but sadly it's all true.  I'm not just a geek, I'm one of the rare super-cool geeks.

Tonight was a LOT of fun, and we gave out lots of awesome bonus items, save for the Guinness window that went home with me. Too bad you guys don't speak Latin better. But we did give away a tap handle, bar toppers, clothing, key chains and more, plus Sam Adams did us a solid warm up with their beer trivia for craft week. Good stuff.

 

In Round 1 (Duh!) tons of teams tied for first and second as mostly 7 and 8's were the score-du-jour. Except for Hells Belles, who got a 4.

In Round 2 (a howling good audio round – see what I did there?) we had one perfect score, which was Jokered, by Whitney Houston, We Have A Problem. The low score for that round went to Lucky Stiffs, with a still respectable 8 point score.

Round 3 was on Subreddits, and only our second place team Peanuts Reference: Anybody Want A Peanut? was able to score a perfect round. To absolutely nobody's surprise, the low score of 2 went to ADA.

For Round 4 (all about borders) we had one perfect score – our first place team of Bigger... Soon To Be Unchained – and a low score of 4 by our last place team Hells Belles.

Round 5's visual round meant pretty much everyone got a perfect, but Hells Belles is the only team that Jokered it for 16 points. The low score (of 6) went to two teams, We Are Useless and Lucky Stiffs.

Round 6 was... interesting. Our round on Satan gave us more than a few perfect scores but one lone low score of 3 went to Generation Gap.

In our second audio round (Round 7) of the evening only Butch Cassidy and The Cockward Kid saw through the fake American accents. Hells Belles, on the other hand, only managed to get one answer correct.

In the final round of random knowledge ADA surprised the fuck out of everyone by getting nearly every answer correct save for one small operation part. But 15 (and Jokered) is still 30 points. Our low score that round was a 9, which quite a few teams actually got.

 

So all the rap tunes I played tonight seemed to be oddly popular, so I think I know what my music theme is going to be for next week. I am the Qui Pimp after all...

TWO YEARS! Wow! Thanks to everyone who “bribed” us tonight for points, and all the well-wishes. I love being your quiz pimp, and for the foreseeable future that won't be changing. This is just too awesome of a job to give up. That being said, though, I do need a sub from time to time and we are hiring. Let me know if you think you're up to it.

 

Tonight our teams did us proud, and good times were had by all. I don't have time to type up the re-cap, but I'm so happy so many of you came out tonight. Two of our teams, Peanuts Reference and Cockward, had so many people show up the had to split in to even more teams! In the end though, despite being a few members shy and not having all the brain cells firing tonight, Me Lose Brain took home the first place bragging rights for the night.

 

I'll have a few more Renaissance tickets to give out next week, so if you didn't win some tonight you can still get your hands on some. Until then!

We barely had any perfect scores all night save for the visual round. In fact, even with a 3rd double-point round the high score was an 81, by Live Free or Die Cockward. Following them was It's Your Fault in 2nd place and Peanuts Reference IV bringing up the rear for 3rd.
