I started playing Pub Quiz at Little Woodrow's Midtown sometime in the summer of 2010.  I had a great time and assembled a team with various knowledge bases which meant that we were pretty good AND had a good chance of scoring a bar tab on any given week.  As a notorious organizer/ringleader of shenanigans, being a QM sounded like a great gig to me, so I auditioned, payed off the judges and scored the gig.

I drank the Geeks Kool-Aid in December of 2010 and haven't looked back since.

Hosting two venues is really cool as the bars have completely different personalities and the crowds do too.  Every week I get to see some familiar faces and, usually, a lot of new ones too.  Its like being a summer camp counselor...but with beer.  Dream Job!

In my spare time, I run a company called Pedal Party which is a 16 person, pedal-powered vehicle that parties can rent to do pub crawls.  I'm the main driver of the bike, so my evenings are generally spent taking care of loud, drunken people making a spectacle of themselves.

Oh, wait, I'm starting to see a pattern emerge.  :D

No, I couldn't let you forget about that horrifying sound clip in R7.  Its been haunting me since then and I really wanted to make sure it was still resonating in your head as well.  You're welcome.

Thanks for joining us for our last quiz before our 4th of July break.  Remember, we'll not be quizzing next monday (July 4th).  Apparently, there's something else going on that night in town and someone decided it was more important that Pub Quiz.  I disagree, but will go along since I'm too tired (and/or drunk) to argue.

Have fun on your week off and try to study something in the break.  We don't give you guys down time just so you can sit around and watch fireworks or something.

Everyone was at Jackson's Watering Hole last night:  Everything's Coming Up Milhouse returned after a 1 week hiatus;  Emily, our lovely bartender, returned after being absent for two weeks (holy crap we MISSED YOU SO MUCH!) and the Goonies returned to play after dissing us for the last 6 weeks (and you guys thought we didn't notice!).

We had some new faces as well: Aardvark, Hogwarts and Team Discovery Channel were all joining us for the first time.  Welcome aboard!  We're glad to meet you.

Oh yeah, most of the regulars were there too, although the-team-formerly-known-as-She's a Nice Lady changed their name to Car Hole! and the ever quixotic team of trivia-eating monsters chose 'Wiener Resigns: Fill My Empty Seat!'  as their topical team name of the week.  Good to see you both.

You know who I don't see?  None of the Above.  Where are you guys?  Just cuz you lost the T-Ball Trophy last week, doesn't mean you don't have to show up this week.  There are standards to be set here, we're counting on you.

Having said all that...the Quiz pretty much rocked.  You guys suck at Movies from the 70's, but MORE than make up for it on Music with Animal Names.  I can't believe the scores ran up that high, that quickly.  Crazy.

Most everyone knew that most of the white people in Round 5 were Africans and most teams tore it up in Round 6 on Bulldogs.  The scores were high and I was higher (having just done a line with that hooker in the bathroom.)

In the end, Milhouse was the victor, restarting their reign of terror over Jackson's Watering Hole with a scary-high score of 81.  You might make the weekly summary with that one!

Right behind them, however, was Wiener with an equally impressive package of 78 points.  In third place, Car Hole! rang in 66 points which isn't too shabby itself.

Team Discovery Channel  and Aardvark duked it out all night for the T-Ball Trophy with Discovery Channel winning/losing by 1 point in the end.  Even though you came in 7th, I really do have to say that 48 isn't a bad score, congrats on the T-Ball and enjoy your free beer on me.

Join us next week as fun continues and shenanigans ensue at Jackson's Watering Hole.  Same time, same place, same underwear.

I'm so glad we've all gotten so close.  So close that I didn't even call out the team that answered the question "Name 8 of the 10 most popular vegetables grown at home," with "Terri Schiavo".  Don't be an idiot people, Terri Schiavo was only popular for about 15 minutes and would never have made a Top 10 list.

We did bands from the 50's, current events and Family TV; the latter of which proved that either most people in the room have never heard of Eight Is Enough OR you guys just count to eight to take a hint.  Either way, no point for you.

There were two big stories today: First, Do Lanterns Pee Green Too? grabbed a big lead in Round 2 and rode it to victory (big surprise...NOT) and None of the Above broke their streak on the T-Ball Trophy, coming in 4th after being in 2nd for most of the night!  These guys were on FIRE!  Congrats!  (Although, I think they were pissed cuz they didn't get the free drink to which they have grown accustomed.)

We had a couple of new teams with us tonight.  Welcome aboard to Touch of Greytness and Girl with a Red Apple Tattoo.  We enjoyed having you.  Don't let the others scare you, they don't bite (much).  Touch of Greytness did great job and stole the T-Ball Trophy from the defending anti-champs.

We also had a Noob Quiz Master in the house last night.  Welcome aboard to Kristina who is in QM Boot Camp to learn how to spin plates while herding cats.  She was awesome!

Check out the pics and stuff to see the sexiness you missed out and JOIN US next week!
