Hey, I fucking love you guys. No really, hosting quiz at Monroes over the past year has been some of the best shit ever in my life.

Yeah, there have been good days and bad days. On the good ones, well quiz is just the icing on the cake. On the bad days, rolling into the bar for a few hours and hanging out with everyone would turn my day around. Every fucking time, without fail. Who knew therapy was being a drunk MC for three hours on a microphone?

We started in late March of last year. Here's Jessica's post. Here's my post. I remember being a nervous wreck those first few weeks when I started hosting. We were rolling on Saturdays back then. What's unique about Monroe's is it's in a hotel (inn? guest suites? well, whatever they're calling it these days), so you get the mix of quizzers and hotel guests which has lead to some pretty interesting interactions over the course of time.

I think the most cringe-inducing situations had to be when parents would have their kids in the bar. Imagine having your family sit down for a nice meal (Monroe's has awesome food, by the way) and then a batch of drunk nerds comes in and starts playing bad YouTube karaoke at full volume while people push and shove each other to get free bonus beers. And then I'm yelling obscenities at full volume, playing the dirtiest Afroman songs possible. To those of you who I offended, I am not sorry at all. In fact, I wish I could have played it a bit louder.

Life's best moments are awkward moments. Cherish them. And obey your quizmaster.

But honestly that's not the only thing that makes quiz fun. Quiz is a celebration of geekdom in all of its forms. For all of the weeks I've hosted quiz I wish I could sit down and try to answer all of those questions that were being asked. We Quizmasters like to play quiz just as much as we like to host.

Anyway, enough of this sappy shit. Reflection time is over. Had I known beforehand that we were getting the ax I would have probably dressed in a suit and tie and made all sorts of funeral-esque bonus beer tokens.

It's been a fucking blast hanging out with you guys each week. I'm sure we'll see each other soon. And when I do, I'll buy you a beer.

Thursday the 31st we're bringing Trivial Pursuit to play at the bar. It will be Geeks Who Drink all over again, no matter how you play.

A few things to take from quiz last night:

• The world is a cruel place. Lindsay Lohan has made it this far and MCA died? Totally beyond my comprehension.
• According to Round 2’s (Dance Your Ass Off) scores, the majority of you have never partied. I should clarify: have never partied listening to the sounds of Cascada.
• I’m surprised there were no other answers for Round 3’s (Suit Yourself) 7^th question about One-Eyed Royals. One-Eyed Royals, uh huh huh huh.
• I cannot for the life of me pronounce two French names in a row. Something short circuits in my brain. If there were three names I would probably be convulsing on the floor.
• Crack, is whack. Ask Jack Bauer.

I imagined that would be enough for one team to run away with but only 3 points separated our teams. Close, just the way I like it. And as a result there was a firefight for Round 8! WENDI RETURNS took it home by just one measly point! Rounding out the other top spots were TRAINING THE BAKER and NO MORE CLEAVAGE FOR THE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

What a battle last night! Two teams duking it out in the Monroe's Arena for supremacy.

Here are some things I learned:

• Nobody knows the last three words of the Cash Cab tagline. At least not at Monroe's last night.
• It is always a pleasure to Rick Roll people.
• Roseanne and Full House = should have been on the top 10 shows for #1 whole-year network ratings
• A good name for a vessel: the HMS Teabagger. Or the Filthy Whore
• Dubstep remixes of TV theme songs are incredible. Especially Spongebob Squarepants!
• Can you believe that Charles Manson deemed Scientology "too crazy"? *slowly backs away from the keyboard*
