Adam (Sweet Adam)

Across the assorted continuities of the universe, there have been various interpretations of Adam. One of Adam's most notable characteristics in any form was his adamant commitment to leadership by example, and avoidance of any hypocrisy in his command. Adam is a wise and essentially upbeat battlefield general.

Other minor details about Adam's personality and personal life — for example, his dislike of rap music ("Blaster Blues" and "Quest for Survival"), which set him at odds with some music-loving characters. Adam also enjoys televised sports, most notably softball which he even plays ("The Master Builder"), as well as setting up a basketball court outside the quiz. Though Adam's personality is like that of a human man age 40-50, he is not above watching afternoon soap operas.

I like gin and tonics.

A few things to take from quiz last night:

  • The world is a cruel place. Lindsay Lohan has made it this far and MCA died? Totally beyond my comprehension.
  • According to Round 2’s (Dance Your Ass Off) scores, the majority of you have never partied. I should clarify: have never partied listening to the sounds of Cascada.
  • I’m surprised there were no other answers for Round 3’s (Suit Yourself) 7th question about One-Eyed Royals. One-Eyed Royals, uh huh huh huh.
  • I cannot for the life of me pronounce two French names in a row. Something short circuits in my brain. If there were three names I would probably be convulsing on the floor.
  • Crack, is whack. Ask Jack Bauer.

I imagined that would be enough for one team to run away with but only 3 points separated our teams. Close, just the way I like it. And as a result there was a firefight for Round 8! WENDI RETURNS took it home by just one measly point! Rounding out the other top spots were TRAINING THE BAKER and NO MORE CLEAVAGE FOR THE CHESS CHAMPIONSHIPS.

I will see you quizzlings next week. Bring some people and help fill some seats!

What a battle last night! Two teams duking it out in the Monroe's Arena for supremacy.

Here are some things I learned:

  • Nobody knows the last three words of the Cash Cab tagline. At least not at Monroe's last night.
  • It is always a pleasure to Rick Roll people.
  • Roseanne and Full House = should have been on the top 10 shows for #1 whole-year network ratings
  • A good name for a vessel: the HMS Teabagger. Or the Filthy Whore
  • Dubstep remixes of TV theme songs are incredible. Especially Spongebob Squarepants!
  • Can you believe that Charles Manson deemed Scientology "too crazy"? *slowly backs away from the keyboard*

See you kids next week at quiz! Glad everyone was a winner last night!

Yes, Bill Cosby.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Quiz for a Cause last night. We raised some good money for the folks over at Alternatives to Violence and gave half of that as a prize to our winning team, EDWARD JAMES OLMOS FAMOUS.

Our first round “Brought to You By the Number Three” really did bring on the pain. Mental pain, not physical. The last thing I needed at a quiz benefit for a non-profit was injuries. Or references to “ass-to-mouth” which I couldn’t avoid with our second round “Human Centipede’s Revenge”. A couple of teams rocked it with scores in the 12-13 point range but nobody wanted to pull the joker trigger just yet. With all of that cash on the line, it was definitely a tough call.

Round 3’s Board Games Say When format kept things close with most teams rocking a 6-8 point spread on it but then Round 4 “The End Is the Beginning” came along and had to screw everything up. There were some big point differences on that one. Most everyone rocked Round 5 - “Draw Something” with 7 and 8 point scores all around. I guess a couple of teams wanted to test my vision and write the answers in those tiny squares on the sheet. Gah! You evil bastards.

From the first break to the final question team EDWARD JAMES held onto the lead and kept it there. Congrats! Teams NEWT GINGRICH PREMATURELY ANNOUNCES HIS PULL OUT and WOLF KNIFE LASER TORCH rounded out our other winning teams for the evening.

I will see you kids next week for another eight rounds of quizzing! Keep your hands to yourself! Byeeeee!
