Quiz For A Cause with the local chapter BFF’s spiced things up a bit.  A tad ironic that round 2 audio was “These Songs Are Crazy Sad”.   At one point one team of fellas were hell bent on having me raffling off one of the BFF’s.  I think that was nixed when she saw him doing the potty dance at the end of the evening because we had a tie for 2^nd place between T. Rod and Three’s Prodigy.  And my first and long time teamers Cancel All The Soaps rocked 1^st place by a substantial margin.  They therefore won 25% of the raffle pot from Quiz For A Cause but, bless your heart, they gave it back.

My favorite part of the Pub Quiz is that it’s never the same and always entertaining.  Sometimes it’s team rivalry, team names or just those stupid wrong answers.  I know I encourage guessing but, so Lady GaGa. 

It was a Bunny night.  Duh! Bunny’s visiting this weekend so were having rabbit. Round 5 Easter Bunny Hunt was a little harder than you’d think.  You all put your best effort into it.  Thanks for ringing my bell. Suck It I Rule You wanted a different kind of bunny. I think and hope you bonded with team Beaver.

I absolutely loved the tie breaking potty dance.  First it all started in a corner against the wall with a representative from both teams appearing like they were marking their territory.  And then it was so damn obvious red shirt dude that you really knew how to potty dance, I mean REALLY and the best part is that you just didn’t want to stop.  Hey, I’m right there with you; I know how important 2^nd place is.

Glorious are those familiar faces always. Tonight loyalty had its benefits.   And it’s O.K. if your face may be familiar somewhere else at a Pub Quiz in a different location, thus you are visiting.  It’s so groovy, cool, neat and bitchen that there is a common thread to unite you wherever you go.  You are never alone. It really doesn’t matter because all Geeks Who Drink share the same values and motivation for “The Quiz” and if you are not of the familiar, and you have no idea of the enlightenment and entertainment to be had at any given Quiz, anywhere, anytime, across the plains, mountains, desert, and sea to sea, virgins are always welcome and in the name or fun, someone will always mentor you.  But first, what are you into and what do you know?

Tonight everyone was a winner.  Everyone!  Swaged and/or bonus beer round winners, it seemed like everyone came away with something; something being the operative word. No need to elaborate.   And fabulous Liz Taylor was honored in the 7^th round audio.  Happy Happy Joy Joy except for one lovely Buttfucking team member(s).

Poop Nuggets, Inc have won for the third week in a row.  Didn’t see some team members for several weeks but, how sweet it is that some of you rearranged your work schedules to have Wednesdays off so we could be together.

Next Wednesday is “Quiz For A Cause” at Paddy’s in Eagle-Vail.  If you Google Paddy’s Sports Bar and Grill, owned and operated by Susan and Rob, the best of the best kind of folks, and I mean that sincerely and cross my heart whole heartedly; it will say Avon, CO only for the reason that Eagle-Vail is unincorporated in Eagle County located between Vail and Avon.  I remember when West Vail had a local Politician who wanted to un-incorporate West Vail from Vail for some stupid reason too irrelevant to remember back in the 80’s.  There are positives such as less tax on food and beverage when un-incorporated.  That coupled with the locals and visitors alike, the location is always on the way to somewhere in the Eagle Valley; East, West, or upward and South. (If you go North from Eagle-Vail you will need your snowshoes or many dogs if it’s winter).

So the bears are waking up and imminent enlightenment reminds us to not leave Paddy’s marvelous BBQ’d ribs in the car even with the windows rolled up.  The Bears are very smart because they are motivated by extreme hunger.   Yogi and Boo Boo know how to tip over a trash can, sort of graciously spread legs (kinda like Ellen Degenerous and her coffee table dance, though I think the bears in my neighborhood did it first) and sit down and pop and shoot the lid off. 

I love you guys.  You make me laugh, gag, and occasionally drink too much.  It’s nice I live so close that I can walk home.  It’s nice that a lot of you do also.  It’s also nice that even if there are numerous TV’s on every side tonight, that you focus on the important:  The Quiz!!!!  It’s a local thing year round here including the off season and seasonal destination travelers that come in and say, “Yaaaaah, We play this at home”.  So cool to find the Pub Quiz.  Sorry it’s not every night of the week.  2 Quizzes left for the season, through the 28^th.  Just a Hiatus.  I’ll be back.

Starting out the night with the questions requiring a question answer was a good thing.  And it got better with an audio Polka Round.  Love a good Polka anytime, anywhere. I’m sure that was for the Birthday Girl Julie.  But round 6 and Niels Bohr had the most whining complaints of the evening.  I thought it interesting that the 12 year old kid playing video games knew about this Niels.

Nice to see Hotties Stick Together tonight.  You really gave Poop a run for it tonight.  The rivals Drinkers Who Geek were in prime form and I don’t blame Julie at all.  I think you made the right decision to sit back and watch your teammates. They had trouble stifling themselves from shouting out answers during a round most of which were totally unrelated to the question like “pussy” or “mystery pussy” which quickly became one of your favorite things to say over and over and over.   I know you like it when I talk dirty but, writing pussy on every line of the Neils Bohr round is not the way to get me to say pussy over and over.

The visual round was fun tonight with Pokeman being the most incorrect wrong answer. And Christine won the email question for the second week in a row.  You go girl.

Surrounded by lovely ladies, Soul Glo  didn’t let on until the end when you tied for 3^rd place and gave your prize to Hotties because you are all leaving town.  We do live in a resort area and I forget sometimes that not everyone stays year round.  You have been so much fun this winter and find a quiz in another city but, never forget where it all started.  Gonna miss you.  It’s like this entire team is relocating.  Stay in touch.

I’m Just Gonna Go Find A Cash Machine who came in a very close second were very strong but, kept it on the down low. All the while red vines distracting other teams (my treat) they kept focused.

Thinking you know something and actually knowing it are different, Duh! And either way, just how many times is an acceptable number of times to repeat a question.  We must have a level and fair playing ground.  Madame Quizmaster makes the executive decisions. Just because you don’t like the topic in a round doesn’t give a team the veto right.  Though I agree with you all in saying, “Who the hell is Niels Bohr?”  You guys are funny. Yes, you my darling Toonces The Driving Pool Nuggets. Whining isn’t necessarily forgiven just by buying me a shot. And you are so very gracious when you took 1^st place for the second week in a row.  Ya right! It was much closer this week wasn’t it? It’s all in the Jokering.
