Quiz Schedule
Bryan (Resident Egon)

Born on a mountaintop in NYC, crowdedest place in the land of the free. Moved cross the country just tryin' to see, come to California when he was only 3.

Bryan, Bryan the Quizmaster. Duke of the wild frontier. (I wouldn't want to be King...too many assassination atttempts)

With references to Hitchhiker’s Guide, tig ol’ bittys, some advice for JFK a little too late, and a love that dare not speak its name, it was a night packed with confusion, comedy, and calamitous carousing. Tiny words, tiny states, and a tiny but talented fat blonde man. And since you demanded it after round 7, ["The Suck Zone". It's the point basically when the twister... sucks you up. That's not the technical term for it, obviously.]

The Angels lost, but the hitchhikers won, and I think we even had the press out tonight. It was lovely as always to see those faces etched into my memory with a white hot soldering iron, but it’s also so nice to meet all the new folks who’ve just stumbled across our Quiz Cave. I asked you all to be creative as you could in those team names, so let’s reveal to the world the fruits of your labors:

  • Irisher Rowdys
  • Me Dennis – Me Bryan, me Quiz Master. That Sean, he bartender.
  • Blonde & Busty
  • I left my leg in Jaglan Beta
  • I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly
  • I’m not fingering her in the corner – uh-huh…and I’m not running a pub quiz every Tuesday night at The Auld Irisher in Orange, CA
  • JFK Needed a Hard Top – or maybe just a hard hat?

We had some rises, some falls, and a grand mixup in Round 8 as always. Random means random people! Let’s go over a recap of tonight’s rounds.

Round#1 was Um…um….oh yeah…it was Um…

Round#2 declared you to be dead. We even had a Warrant song. Too soon?

Round#3 was looking for Rhode Island or Connecticut. I swear I didn’t do a Peter Griffin imitation…

Round#4 brought us 2 for the price of one. With only a handful of last names in the world there were bound to be a limited number of answers.

Round#5 is all about knowing your standup. Everyone knew that squinty-eyed loudmouth Gottfried, but no one knew Josh Blue. Guess someone needs to take out a policy from AFLAC.

Round #6…shhhh…don’t tell anyone..but I actually DO like musicals…

Speaking of Round#6, the email bonus question this week:

What card did Cliff Burton pick? Ace of Spades

Round#7 gave us 8 samplings of one man, all of them overweight.

Obviously Round#8 was Random Knowledge and as usual…6.3 on the richter scale and kaboom we have new standings in the final.

It’s all fun and games until the flying monkeys come and steal someone’s left eyeball, so eventually a winner simply had to be declared:

  • In 3rd – Blonde & Busty – yes…the blondes came in 3rd
  • In 2nd – JFK needed a hard top
  • In 1st – I left my leg in Jaglan Beta – but obviously not your quizzing brain

I’d like to thank everyone in the bar who makes this kind of a Tuesday night possible, especially me. I couldn’t have done it without myself.

Here's to the wine we love to drink, and the food we like to eat.
Here's to our wives and sweethearts, let's pray they never meet.
Here's champagne for our real friends And real pain for our sham friends.
And when this life is over, may all of us find peace.

Tightly contested, and hotly ran it was tonight. Mostly hotly ran...by the time we finished with the quiz at 10pm it was still over 80 degrees outside. Who needs a bucket of water to further the process when you step out of the nicely air condiitoned pub and start melting instantly?

Speaking of hot, have you tried the Spicy Tuna here? Woof! Like a mule kick to the face on a bad day when you just learned some horrible hidden family secret that will forever haunt you and come into the forefront of your imagination at some of the most inappropriate times.

As I said, it was a tight competition with only a handful of nasty hobbitses vying for my precious. The fellowships of the night were of the nomenclature:

  • The Choir Invisibule
  • These French Fries - call me a sucker for simplicity but this was my fave name of the night
  • Team ‘Hey I came with him’
  • Team ‘I was her ride.’
  • I’ll Earn My Bonus Points Later
  • Why Do I Play with Couples?

Round#1 was On a Roll – All answers as a paper, questions on a list, and I for one am truly sick of all these mothafuckin’ snakes, on this mothafuckin’ plane.

Round#2 was Bearded Bands – I’ve seen the blank stare before(I am a nerd with a tendency to tangentially rant) but never for 8 questions in a row.

Round#3 stated the rules very simply, Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves. Movie…movie…not men. Cause that sounds like…real randy the other way. Of course movie or gigolo you did have to figure out who made more money. Just sing to yourself now, “Goodnight, sweetheart, well it’s time to go…”

I’d like to think we had a Round#4, but I think I only imagined it.

Round#5 exited through the sex shop(ok no the gift shop but I AM writing this at 2 in the morning so thththtpptptpt)

Round#6 was one of those rounds you could bank on. Oh god! I made a funny! Or I made a corny! Hell…laugh or groan I know I got a reaction out of you. Teehee…. Speaking of Round#6, the email bonus question this week:

What Canada-only Pontiac car name was re-used by Nissan starting in 1986? The Pathfinder!

The illustrious Mr. Swanson claimed the mountaintop prize, and the hermit allowed him to walk with some wrapPIng paper...(can we say 2am joke again?)

Round#7 was all about TV Douchebags. Team ‘I was her ride’ claims “The Situation” was a guess, but I know a closet Jersey Shore fan when I’ve been friends with one for almost 20 years.

Obviously Round#8 was Random Knowledge....and boy howdy was this one random...

It’s all fun and games until the flying monkeys come and steal someone’s left eyeball, so eventually a winner simply had to be declared:

  • In 3rd – I’ll Earn My Bonus Points Later
  • In 2nd – These French Fries
  • And pulling a big surprise slide last minute into first – The Choir Invisibule!

Good bye for this week, my herd, my flock, my darling little slime-covered toddlers fresh from sewer exploration ecause they heard we all float down there. I leave you with simple words of Irish wisdom. See you in 7 nights!

Here’s to women’s kisses, and whiskey, amber clear. Not as sweet as a woman’s kiss, but a damned sight more sincere!

Quiz Schedule
Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.....I'll quiz anytime anywhere!
Tom (Tommyboy aka The IrishBastard)

Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi...

Gawd I love that movie.

So what can I say about myself, Im an avid Transformers buff, Id say I have roughly 300+ pieces in my collection and it grows by the week.  I currently work full time for Coca Cola Refershments as a lead area Merchandiser, which basically means I do the work of 3 guys while getting paid for 1 mans work.

I been Quizmaster since December and its only getting better, so when IM not scouring the toy shops or quizzing, or working for the soda gods, I go to school to get my met and hopefully my LVN.

So not only do i Love Transformers, I have and extensive collecting of 80's Movies as well as music.

I karaoke as much as possible and I don't want toot my own horn, but I got a set of pipes on me.

As far as my softer side, I do enjoy live theatre and try to perform as much as possible myself, whether it be in a musical or stage play, but I also try to do Improv.

Yes just like "Whose Line".

BEsides that I enjoy my time off with my lovey gal Erin Latham, our 4 dogs.

The white German Shepard "Gustav Arnold Himler"

The Siberian Husky "Johnny Cash"

The wired Haired Terrier "Oliver Walter Elias"

Finally the only female, The Chihuaua "Pumpkin"

So let me sign off by saying this,

I don't need any of this. I don't need this stuff, and I don't need *you*. I don't need anything. Except this.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this ashtray... And this paddle game. - The ashtray and the paddle game and that's all I need...

And this remote control. - The ashtray, the paddle game, and the remote control, and that's all I need...

And these matches. - The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control, and the paddle ball... And this lamp. - The ashtray, this paddle game, and the remote control, and the lamp, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too.

I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The paddle game and the chair, and the remote control, and the matches for sure. Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.
The ashtray, the remote control, the paddle game, and this magazine, and the chair.

And I don't need one other thing, except my dog.
[dog growls at him]
I don't need my dog.

So like I said Geeks will be moving to Tuesday Nights at the Auld Irisher starting next week.

Sadly I already have a Tuesday night venue so Mr. Bryan Madigian will be taking over for me.

But enough about that lets get back to me.

As you can see, saw in the pictures, and experienced last night I got iced 3 different times.

I fucking hate you all for it but good game folks good game.

I also was the lucky recipient of a "Blowjob" shot courtesy of Ryan Austin...so sick mofo.

So the rounds broke down pretty well.

Round#1 The Dirty 30's also our Bartender Crystal is turning 30 but i was supposed to say anything.

Round# was the colors in a rainbow, and you wise asses also knew what Roy G. Biv was good job.

Round#3 was colleges or something in 2 1/2 minutes

Round#4 Bedlams and bad lambs....my horrible pun is as stated.

"Hmmmm sounds like someones been a Baaaaaaad Sheep" yea that one was for me.

Round#5 they ever popular Kawaii...but in history.

Round #6 Moon mythology. What no mooning for Uranus?

Round#7 was name the state or movie? Just the state or movie.

Round #8 as always is Random Knowledge.

So metal dragon pretty much ruled all night but a few teams kept chipping away at the lead from them.

We had quite a few ties through out the night but it all came down to the end.

We had a tie for second which was decided by a drink off.

It was between "& the Electric Mayhem" and "So long and thanks for the syphilis"

Ingedientts included:

Jim Beam

Maiibu

Absolut m
