After 3 weeks off I had my triumphant return! And it was greeted by the sound of crickets, though I couldn’t hear them over all of you cheering. I know I am that awesome and it is nice to know that you know too. Ok here are the rounds y’all destroyed last night.

Round 1 was This Land Is Your Land. Most of the answers contained land.

Our Music Round dealt with Songs for the Morning After

I Guess I’ll Just Feed Worms was our Round 3. You had 2.5 minutes to name the top 8 causes of death according to the CDC.

Round 4 was It is All Greek to Me.

The Visual Round saw the return of Bonfire of the Vanity Plates

Homers and Simpsons was the topic of Round 6.

For Round 7 different covers of Yesterday were edited together and you just had to name the artist. Don’t bitch too much, we only used 8 of the over 1600 choices of covers.

And we closed the night, like we always do (trying to take over the world), with Random Knowledge! 

 

Though the standings did not change once last night, it really was a close game that all came down to Round 8. With a one point spread separating 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. But alas the standings stood the same.

My triumphant return was greeted by crickets. No but, seriously you all seemed happy to have me back, mostly because I would never make you draw dicks, like some people I know. Anywho twas a great night.

We opened the night with Duh.

The Music Round was Can Uke Dig It?

Name that Alec was Round 3. You decided between Alec Guinness and Alec Baldwin. Or as one team insisted on making a point of, Sir Alec Guinness and (not sir) Alec Baldwin.

Round 4 was Movies by Chapter Title.

Trippin Round the World was our Visual Round.

We had A Stupid, Stupid Round 6.

Round 7 was Terrible Sequels

And Round Number 8 was, surprise surprise, Random Knowledge!

Geek Bowl VI is coming up in January in Austin, Texas (that is the largest Pub Quiz in the country FYI, and your chance to compete directly against other teams from across the country).

Also DVR Jeopardy while you are at quiz this week and next so you can watch Geeks Who Drink’s head editor, Christopher Short, kick butt and take names during the Tournament of Champions.

Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin' on the porch with my family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi...

Gawd I love that movie.

So what can I say about myself, Im an avid Transformers buff, Id say I have roughly 300+ pieces in my collection and it grows by the week.  I currently work full time for Coca Cola Refershments as a lead area Merchandiser, which basically means I do the work of 3 guys while getting paid for 1 mans work.

I been Quizmaster since December and its only getting better, so when IM not scouring the toy shops or quizzing, or working for the soda gods, I go to school to get my met and hopefully my LVN.

So not only do i Love Transformers, I have and extensive collecting of 80's Movies as well as music.

I karaoke as much as possible and I don't want toot my own horn, but I got a set of pipes on me.

As far as my softer side, I do enjoy live theatre and try to perform as much as possible myself, whether it be in a musical or stage play, but I also try to do Improv.

Yes just like "Whose Line".

BEsides that I enjoy my time off with my lovey gal Erin Latham, our 4 dogs.

So lets do the Brickity Break down.

 

Here is some of my favorite rounds of the night

Trick or Treat: A Rhyming Round....well sort of.

Super Super Super Round: Remember in superbad Jonah Hills character could not stop drawing a certain "male body part" so for bonus points I asked for you guys to draw for me a "Magnificent Bastard"

This is what I got.

Best part was "Tequilla Mockingbird" actually discussing who gets to draw the penis, who get to shade it in. But the kicker was and I quote "shelly you should draw it cause you seen alot of them". OMG!!! Best reasoning yet.

The Visual Round Voorhees not included: Name the movies in which characters wear "Hockey Mask"

Also shout out for the "Okama Game Sphere" reference.

 

Another highlight was the bar playing some Bitchin 80's music. Also a few people rocking out hard with air guitars and singing along.

 

So after all was said and done we had our winner winner chicken dinners.
