Whew. Today was a scorcher! It was so hot today that I saw a bum with a sign that said "Will Work for Shade". But seriously folks, It was Hot. And so it was with great zeal that the quizzers came into Moe's tonight to quench their parched throats with Ice Cold Beer and the refreshing cool balm of a Pub Quiz.

So it turns out that Sting DOES NOT have long bouts of weird Tantric Sex. That was just a hoax pulled off by Boomtown Rats frontman Bob Geldof. I don't know if this makes me hate Sting less or more. It's hard to say.

So when Tyler Perry makes a movie does he just let his 4 year-old nephew come up with the title? THE PEEPLES? I CAN DO BAD BY MYSELF? WHO DID I JUST MARRY II? PUT SHOES ON THEM FEETS? These are horrible movie titles. What the fuck Tyler Perry?

Ok Teams. You all did great. Love you bunches.

Jeepers Creepers! Where have you all been hiding? You teams that I have not seen in months. You all decided to re-emerge tonight like hibernting Cicadas. You all crawled from the soil and attached yourselves to the branches of Moe's and started your noisy breeding cycle. Nice to see you again, you weirdos.

I learned tonight that the Eggplant is naturally high in Nicotine.I do not usually eat eggplant and I have been meaning to give it a try but now I think I will hold out until they offer it in Menthol. Perhaps in a few years, once smoking has been totally shamed away, a young lover will roll over after a session of blissful intercourse and will thoughtfully eat an eggplant before drifting off to sleep. If he is classy, he will shake an extra eggplant from his bag and offer it to his partner. That would be smooth.

The Periodic Table, Leisure Suit Larry, Kingdom Hearts, Mark Addy, They Might Be Giants. You needed to be a REAL DORK to do well in the Quiz tonight. As luck would have it, we had some REAL DORKS.  Congrats you nerds. Now get out of the Senior Courtyard before you all get pink-bellies.

Hello! Thank you for joining me here at the blog for a delightful wrap-up and round-up of the highlights (and lowlifes) of tonight's big Pub Quiz at Moe's BBQ.

Our first round tonight was about famous people named Randy. Teams all seemed to do well but I was personally troubled by the fact that there was no mention of The Amazing Randy, who has debunked claims of the paranormal for the past 5 decades, or Randolph "Randy" Duke, the Don Ameche character from Trading Places, or country star Randy Travis who was recently arrested drive while both Drunk and NAKED during the afternoon, which is according to statistics, the least likely time for a human to be both drunk and/or naked.

Our speed round tonight challenged players to name 8 of the 10 top-rated Network TV programs from last season. Teams did poorly. Really poorly. I guess that folks who are out at a bar at 8:30 on a Tuesday are not the prime demo for Network Primetime. One team guessed 8 shows, NONE OF WHICH are on Network TV. Breaking Bad, Madmen, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Girls, Deadliest Catch, Pawn Stars, and Homeland are ALL cable shows. Some of them are DEEP CABLE. You have good taste, but you are not watching this week's new episode of Two Broke Girls. Or The Voice.

We did not have a ton of teams tonight but the teams that we did have were some of the sexiest teams ever. Nice going folks. You really brought the heat. Keep this up and you are going to bring the public hard-on back into style. Va-Va-Va-Voom.
