Tina (Tina the Bold)

Fueled by pure awesome, Quizmistress Tina adores both the Wednesday night Quiz at Sloan's and the Monday night Quiz at The Highland Tavern!

She is a Sagittarius who loves to laugh.  She is a Goth who loves the Green Bay Packers.  And she is a trained unicorn racer.

When the Zombie Apocolypse arrives, follow her to a stronghold of humanity; until then, learn about the evacuation plan over some whisky-- be prepared!

Yowza!  Garbanzo!  A beautiful night, my Quizzlings.  Andy was back in town after two years with the Navy.  Joshua B. from my high school was present and played with a team.  And my little-ist Awesomer held a brief but informative discussion on what legalizing homosexuality and legalizing abortion had to do with one another.  Is Sloan’s epic or what?!  We have the best bar ever!

Thank god the scores were higher this week, too.  I was a bit sore after last week, but hey!  We don’t give up the fight!  Not only were we back to normal scores, I had a veritable queue of gentlemen awaiting bonus questions, with a dash of Arthur’s Theme (that’s Christopher Cross, yo) to temper the cock.  Oh yes.  We rock around.

Eric O. was the winner of tonight’s Internet Bonus Question, and became the personal sideshow purveyor of the biggest little man kit.  Yeeeeeee-haw!  Bring out the midgets!  We’re about to get serious!

Ahem.  Back to serious.  Super cereal.  1st place went to Raging Hemp Toupée Party; they were the rightful owners of 1st place for the entire Quiz.  With a sweet non-Joker round 2, the gentlemen of D.W.G. pulled within one point of them to snag 2nd place with nothing short of fierce determination.  Loved it!  Odelay!  My glorious Macaque of the Ages made their way into 3rd place.  They also made one of the most-involved macaquealicious drawings to date.  Give it a look.  Especially you, J-Dawg.  Gaze upon the glory.  Caught Between the Moon and NY City took 4th, which was super rad. Mark and Erin!  You were top of the line!  My Dixie Wrecked, the wonderful men that they are, had a sweet Joker I missed.  And voila:  one moment low, the next on top , and then 4thIf you don’t look good, We don’t care gave me a rather interesting performance, but settled for 5th, knocking out my lovely ladies of Awesomer… Stupider  into 6th, who tied with Three Men and a Little Lady.  And then there is BAMF, who was doing well, and had fun.  Like all of us.

Live well.  Be well.  And until next week…. Well, enjoy the world!

It was Awesomer’s fornight of doom, as they squared off against the men of My Dixie Wrecked.  Tying in the way that they did, it was only proper for me to provide simultaneous pitchers of beer.  Ladies!  Gentlemen!  We are a proudly gender-unpreturbed, sexually comfortable, and recklessly silly group of Quizzlings!  I welcome your smiles, your laughter; your determination, your glory.  Wednesday night in all it’s epic delight is here to reign supreme.  Thank you.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, so I arrived, full of an asparagus chicken pasta with a bacon desert to find NEW PRIZE DAY!  Carly C., won the last of the old prizes:  Fugu mints with “cooling agent” added.  Hmmmmmmmmm.  Coloradical?  Me thinks so.

Does Screamo suit Hip Hop?  Me thinks not.  To the purveyors of these sounds:  get your proverbial poop in a group!  Terrible.  Sounds that make the ears bleed.  And to Jay Z?!  Whoa!  Nelly!  *yep, insert bad pun here*

So we had sorely low scores.  Such is life… But did we not have a great finish?  Ties for a few levels of scoring!  Too much smoking outside!  Tina is the best (ha ha ha… had to make three sentences with ‘T’).

Winning 1st place by the meer-skin of their teeth, my beloved DWG kicked and screamed like banshees on the ride until they solidified their fate.  2nd place went to the timely Oh Junior, Say it ain’t Seau.  Timely, oh too timely.  Too soon.  Or rather, too late.  Thus lost, to 3rd place, the wonderful Carnage Asada.  Where was Naomi on a night like this?!?  Stop Beating Macaque supplied yet another brilliant piece of art, and bested my one-man-team of It’s A Trap.   Pineapple vodka be damned.   As aforementioned, Awesomer and My Dixie Wrecked drank to 1973 and all the freedoms we should all know.  Love it!  They were so much better than  #37.  Better luck next time.

Next week?  Yes!  Pure Glory!

A loud and raucous Quiz is nothing to sneeze at, my Quizzlings!

Thank you for your patience with the seemingly-endless repeats… one team in particular exhibited a greater neediness in combination with an ever-dwindling score per round… as I often have stated, don’t ask for a repeat if you simply don’t know the answer.  Please.  Have a little integrity!  With scores in the 80s, we can all assume that the Quiz was more than approachable.  Last week?  Challenging.  Tonight?  Glorious.  Man on, and get ‘er done!

The Internet Bonus prize went to Big Dick Patrick, who will be enjoying pints of Geek Bowl Beer at his whim.  Thank you, Erin, for the epic tattoo.  Also, thank all three of you who submitted!  Proud to hear that you all love your Heironymus Bosch!

With an early seize, 1st place went to Remove Plastic Before Using.  The same could be applied to Biggis Dickus (see above).  Tagging them without overcoming, 2nd place went to Dancing with the Chinese Throwing Stars Party.  Ahhhhhhhh, it’s like the olden days!  D.W.G. snagged 3rd place, and then let me in on a secret:  they refer to their 1st-place days as “the Golden Days”.  Welcome back!  They were followed by My Dixie Wrecked, who got off with a sweet Joker in round four.  Playing with a team of seven, Macaquet-ship were doomed from the get-go.  However, their artistry abounded with a wild launch to Uranus.  Yep, it’s ok to laugh.  We’re like a Quiz of ten year olds.  *smirk*  C and E Sound Machine found their sweet spot, too.  It’s a lot like owls with massive tits in tattoo format.  NBD.  And now we achieve the moment of Maria… how do you solve a problem like Maria?  Too bad Pempchanko quit early.  I was trying to be gentle.  Really.  Truly.  You could have bested Maria.

With love and laughter, that will be all.  Cheers, big ears.  Until next week, and beyond!
