My Quizmaster style can best be described as a mix between an announcer at an NBA basketball game and Brad Neely's Dear Reader: Wizarding People.  Jordan's quizzlings has the propensity for random bouts of karaoke during shitty 90's songs e.g. Ashlee Simpson, and Smashmouth.  I am notorious for leading aforementioned sing alongs.

Following Kentucky Basketball is my full time job, The Avett Brothers are constantly playing in my head, and Swedish Fish, Fried Okra, and Chocolate Milk are the true keys to my heart.

I also have an inexplicable habit of breaking out in dance every time old school BlackEyedPeas songs come on.

A Few Things We Learned Tonight:

Jeremiah from the Lumineers is THE MAN!

Tonight was a quiz fraught with intensity and randomness.  First of all, we had our first ever celebrity sighting as Jeremiah Fraites, of the Lumineers, joined us for some good old fashioned quizzing.  The Lumineers played two showed out shows just 3 days earlier at the Bluebird, played Conan last week and will be opening for Cake at Red Rocks on July 28th.  Meanwhile we had a barn burner brewing score wise.  It was a slug fest between Doc Brown and the Mcflys, Who the Fuck Cares, See You at the Stadium and Mean John Greene, entering the final round Doc Brown and WTFC were all knotted up but in the end those teams would finish in exactly that order.  WTFC tied with Stadium for second but settled the score with a dance off victory.  Also it should be mentioned a girl tried to explain the proper pronunciation of the Vietnamese dish Pho for 5 minutes despite the fact that I’m Asian and I was pronouncing it exactly like she said it.

Pasquini's (DTC) - Wednesday 7:30p 		Nate ()

Nate claims to be a nerd, not a geek (though he doesn't quite understand the difference). He reads graphic novels, is a walking IMDb, watches "Lost" on repeat, and enjoys a good reimagining (looking at you, BSG) but hates when George Lucas messes with the OT. 

Subbing for another quizmaster is always interesting business; at first, things never go quite as smoothly as you would like them to. But eventually, you begin getting a hang of the new venue. And then somewhere around round six, you get cocky and fuck things up again. But by the time it comes to ride this sucker to the finish line, you finish with flying colors (and yet another delicious beer).

First things first, Jordan's has kick ass french fries. I am pretty sure they cook these things in fried crack. This might be the most important thing that I learned, and will surely bring me back to Jordan's over and over. 

Second things second, this was an awesome night. A strong quiz and strong quizlings. And, as always, Tequila Mockingbird might be the greatest, punniest name of all time.

I'd like to give some major props to Mean John Greene for a variety of reasons. First of all, this upstanding team sent John Greene himself to tell us that after Round 4 another person joined their team, therefore leaving them with seven total. He wanted to let us know. They had already jokered (Round 2, they had a perfect score), but rules are rules, and I took it away from them. However, they continued to fight all night and ended up tying for second... WITHOUT USING A JOKER. I was very impressed. They were awarded THIRD PLACE.

Second place (who should feel slighly ashamed that a team tied them with no jokers) went to Pirates of the Pereneum (do not look up pereneum on Wikipedia: you've been warned). 

First place, with a solid 79 points, went to the the Seminal Vesicles! Congrats to all!

Big thanks to Kirsten for subbing last week, the Jordan’s crew all seemed amused by her wit.  It was great as always to be back though and we certainly got off to an interesting start.  After having our host table occupied by a graduation party for the first ten minutes we rallied back and gave the people what they really wanted, some hardcore quizzing.  While they didn’t end up on top best team name of the week award goes out to Vagina is my 3rd Favorite Hole.  Our top finishers were mostly regulars tonight.  Pirates of Perineum took first and Murder Mystery was close behind.  Me 5 Dollar Better for 6 tied it up with Who the Fuck Cares for third but after WtFC refused a dance off 5 Dollar went home with $15 to Jordan’s.
