Quiz Schedule
Tuesdays 7:45p.m. at Jordan's on University and Evans 		Tristan ()

My Quizmaster style can best be described as a mix between an announcer at an NBA basketball game and Brad Neely's Dear Reader: Wizarding People.  Jordan's quizzlings has the propensity for random bouts of karaoke during shitty 90's songs e.g. Ashlee Simpson, and Smashmouth.  I am notorious for leading aforementioned sing alongs.

Following Kentucky Basketball is my full time job, The Avett Brothers are constantly playing in my head, and Swedish Fish, Fried Okra, and Chocolate Milk are the true keys to my heart.

I also have an inexplicable habit of breaking out in dance every time old school BlackEyedPeas songs come on.

A Few Things We Learned Tonight:

I loved seeing your minds get blown upon discovering how to answer round 4

The brilliance of round 4 could only be compared to the McRib

Yin Yang?  Could the Expendables get any more racist?

Yes Pokemon is totally the Japanese translation of ninja

I just shipped my pants reading that round.

We had a barn burner tonight as well as a somewhat confuzzling middle round. Team Google was in third entering the half, but disappeared after their sudden success.  However, the finish would prove to be the story of the night. In the end U Down w/ MPP leap frogged to first with a strong final round.  Dr Sharma fell short by one point with a second place finish and Respect My Authorotay dropped to third.

I love that everyone sang the Prince Ali song

Guinea Pigs lead from the get go, and never looked back taking first place the entire night.  There was however a bit more drama deciding second and third. Simba Meat Tacos and Hey Hey Va-Jay Jay settled it the old fashioned way with a quiz off with Simba Meat Tacos taking third.

Midterms at DU meant that only the true geeks, the passionate quizzlings, the master question-answering-type were in attendance at last night’s quiz.  Sure, all those other losers are studying for their big test and making sure they’re not wasting mom and pop’s money but you, dear quizzlings, know that you can learn a lot more at quiz than you can at the library.

You learned that AOL was originally called Control and was designed for the Atari 2600 and that bright orange hot-pants and a certain white trash sexiness do not mean that Hooters wings are any better than average.

You learned that Alannah Myles sang Black Velvet but you didn’t learn why you should give a damn.

You learned that the Denver Nuggets make perennial playoff appearances; they just get knocked out in the first round every time.  Damn Nuggets.

You learned that blue beryl is aquamarine and you learned what the hell a beryl was.

You learned to listen.  When I explained there was a minor error on the visual round and that Hamlet was actually NOT an answer, I didn’t see any team write down Hamlet.  Good for you for paying attention.

You learned that celebrities and diseases aren’t so far removed.

You re-learned all you childhood knowledge by listening to old, educational children’s TV shows.

You learned to blame Australia for the unforgiveable act of unleashing Speedos upon the world.

Maybe your late-night drinking won’t get you a degree, quizzlings, but, rest assured, you can learn a lot more at a bar than you can at a university.
